Description
My very first atempt on TerraSpace art, it took way longer than i have initially imagined. These 2 nebulas featured on this piece are my very first 2 attempts.
This piece is a fantasy scape, have no intention on making it realistic.

EDIT (17th Oct 2006): Reduced the size to 50%...too big for ideal viewing if it was full size...

*_* Amazing picture! The title fits the picture perfectly! ^_^ Imagining looking up at all the colors and planets being swallowed by them....everything looks very realistic; the planets, the icy mountains, the person gazing above....I love this pic and definate !!

I added it just know. I didn't have to go down range due to the ice storm. I guess the Army doesn't like to sleep in 5 inches of ice. "weekies" is the nice way to say "****ys"
Well at least I get DA and beer tonight!
I love this, your talent makes me sooooo jealous!

8 inches of ice, 40,000 with no power, and 8 have died on the roads...so far, and it is not over. Its a real bell ringer this one.
Never seen such ice and hell mixed together. It is REALLY bad.

I will have that any day over the 8 inch clumps of ice on the the streets, and the idiots that drive on them.
How about we trade lives, you get to drive in the ice to work and I get to do what you do?
I would get a pretty eruo for that1

Wow, that's amazing where did you learn to make nebulae like that so well on your first attempts? Not to mention the render and blending and it all goes so well together... simply beautiful

I just look at real nebulas and other people's work to get ideas (not copying of course ), then try to make it your own style...
Thanks again!

Very, very nice.
I love snow, and those mountains have been captured beautifully.
The shadow of the figure should be a lot lighter, and less prominent I feel.
Top right: Absolutely fabulous.
Top left: Very good.
Planet: Very good.
Try not to use stock lens flares, they don't look so good.
Some of the cloudy bits around the larger part of the top left nebulae look too fluffy and formless in comparisson to the rest of the images' clarity.

This hase the potential to be an even better piece. I like the concept, but theres a few things that ruin it for me. 1st is that I think there are too many smaller planets. That area of the Nebula is way too crowded IMO. One moon sized planet and a very small distant planet would have really put some depth into it.
2nd is that the edge of the blueish nebula sort of cuts it off from the rest of the piece. I would try getting rid of the grayish coulds around it and bring that blue out into the entire piece.
All and all Very nice. Just a couple of things to consider.

wow. for your first attempt that's brilliant! absoultely stunning. Looks like you could have been doing it for a while. Or have been practicing for a while on honing whatever wonderful skills needed to do this. Looks awesome! The little red nebual in the corner would look 'spiffing' by itself as well. I really like it! and the ice rings and the sun. Splendid job! this deserves a fav!
So how long did this take to do?

Awsome picture...really like how you set up the scene. As far as your comment on this being your first attempts at designing nebulas...i'd consider studying and looking at regular earth clouds, take 2 color tones: one for the actual nebula color and a darker tone for the shadowing (light falloff) and just randomly airbrush an area, first with your main color and airbrush away from your light source in the back of the "cloud" with the darker tone. I usually take the smudge tool and set it to about 50% at about size 3 on a non soft edge brush and just start swishing in and out between the two colors in an arc form...once you get a good looking puff you'll have a reference. Works every time for me. If you need an idea go check out my "Royal Heavens" image.
