Description On the Ninth of November 1979, the world ended. 50 years have passed since that fateful day and no one remembers who sealed mankind's fate. New powers have risen from the ashes and some old powers still remain.

Americas

Northwest Confederacy
Capital: Gresham, Oregon
Government: Electocracy
Leader: President Andrew Brown
Originally founded as the city-state of Gresham in 1990. It has since expanded to encompass nearly the entire Pacific Northwest.

Texan Empire
Capital: Forth Worth, Texas
Government: Absolute Monarchy
Leader: Emperor Richard Morris
Founded in 2005 by a man named Richard Morris, his followers believe he was chosen by God to reunite America. Georgia, Tennessee and Coahuila were all founded in opposition to Texan expansion.

Caribbean Pirate Empire
Capital: Santo Domingo
Government: Military Junta
Leader: High Commander Ruby Santana
Once the Gulf of Mexico was divided amongst various pirate lords, that was until pirate lord Ruby Santana conquered the rest in 2022. They are now at war with the Republic of Mobile and have taken New Orleans.

Cal
Capital: Calgary, Alberta
Government: Military Dictatorship
Leader: Boss Gary Murphy
Originally a gang of raiders called The Cals, they managed to form an organized government in 2014. Life in Alberta is chaotic, in as little as a month the leader can be assassinated and replaced.

Para
Capital: Belem, Para
Government: Direct Democracy
Leader: President Gaspar Henriques
Founded by a remnant of the Brazilian government mere months after the war. Para is one of the few forms of order in the ruins of South America.

Europe

Corsica
Capital: Ajaccio, Corsica
Government: Absolute Monarchy
Leader: Queen Viviane Bernard
Created by a raider chief named Lucian Bernard, in 1988 he conquered all of Corsica and declared himself king. After annexing much of the Mediterranean he would die in 2026 at the age of 69, leaving his young daughter to inherit his kingdom. Already she has seized the Strait of Gibraltar and made plans for war against Cyprus.

Yugoslavia
Capital: Belgrade, Serbia
Government: Federal Republic
Leader: President Hinko Novak
One of the few remaining pre-war nations, they credit their survival to their isolationist policies following the war, refusing to accept the great influx of refugees after the bombs fell. In recent years they have become more expansionist, recently having taken Albania by force.

Connaught
Capital: Galway, Ireland
Government: Parliamentary Democracy
Leader: Prime Minister Siobhan Kerry
After the bombs fell many tried to seek refuge in neutral Ireland. This would prove to be disastrous, with the loss of so much farmland across the world and the refugees arrival, people began to starve and society began to collapse. Now only Connaught remains.

Africa

West African Kingdoms
The kingdoms of Gambia, Mali, Guinea, Ghana, Lagos and Niamey. They have regressed to the technology of medieval Europe and have a similar, feudal society.

Egypt
Capital: Cairo, Egypt
Government: Plutocracy
Leader: President Gamal Al-Maghrabi
Egypt and Tanzania are the last of the pre-war nations in Africa. Since the apocalypse Egypt has become an oligarchy in which the rich and powerful elect a leader and the poor have no authority.

Asia

Iran
Following the war Iran became very unstable, the Iranian government did its best to keep the country together, but it wasn't enough. In 1984 Tabriz would declare independence, 1990 would mark Isfahan's separation, 1993 would be Kermanshah and 2000 would mark the end of Iran as Mashhad's independence. After Isfahan's defeat the four nations of Iran are locked in a cold war, waiting for one incident to light the fire.

India
Capital: New Delhi, India
Government: Single Party State
Leader: President Arushi Jha
Shortly after the war several regions of India were cut off after being deemed to costly to maintain. India would become a single party state in the year 2003. South India would become its own country in 2018 and has spent the last 11 years gathering allies for a war on India.

Oceania

Australia and New Zealand
Australia is a barren, irradiated wasteland with the exceptions of Adelaide and Tasman, although rumors from Brisbane and the Northern Territory suggest several tribes uniting into federations. Much like the rest of the world New Zealand is a mostly lawless place, with the exception of Christchurch and some areas in the north.

Fijian Federation
Capital: Suva, Fiji
Government: Parliamentary Democracy
Leader: Prime Minister David Qoro
Founded in 2006, it is unlike many other large nations in the post-war world due to the fact that its expansion has been mostly peaceful. They often leave areas alone if they reject annexation, however they will counterattack and conquer areas that attack first, much like with New Caledonia.
