Description
Thanks to a client, I finally got to paint one of my favourite aircraft, which, strangely, I had not gotten around to depicting yet!Related content

Simultaneously a source of great pride and deep shame.

Talk about an aircraft that never got a chance...

Indeed. I don't actually fault the government for cancelling the project - after all, the advent of ICBMs made the Arrow obsolete - but completely destroying the Canadian aviation industry that created it is inexcusable.

Still would of made a great interceptor or low-level attack bomber though!

Maybe not an interdictor (the wing was not designed for low altitudes), but certainly a high-altitude reconnaissance platform like the MiG-25, the most comparable aircraft.

I remember there was an article stating that they wanted to revive the Arrow as a competitor to the F-35(A little outrageous, especially for an aircraft designed in the 50s)

Yes, I remember hearing that. 50s vintage aside, the Arrow was designed for one purpose: to climb very quickly to high altitude and fly at Mach 2+ in a straight line. It would be completely unsuited to an air superiority and close air support role. Reviving the Iroquois engine, however, I would fully support!
