This was going to be a small and quick update because I've been on call this weekend and didn't think I would have much time to work on the *proper* next comic. I also felt the need to do something a little more fun than a colour correction tutorial. Of course I started having too much fun and it ended up being at least twice as big as I expected. I already had most of the vectors, though, so it didn't take too much time.
Today's artists will each receive (in order of appearance) an all-expenses paid trip to the beautiful Club Med resort at Gale Crater! (Subject to availability, offer expires Aug 12 2013.)

GIMP is easier to use in my opinion.
Never try to swallow pages and most of all, the cover of a Photoshop book...

While I wouldn't give GIMP any user interface awards, I find it less frustrating to use than Photoshop and I'm no spring chicken when it comes to Photoshop.
Unfortunately my workflow relies on too many of Photoshop's more recent features that haven't yet been implemented in GIMP. Darn Adobe crack.

I wish I could use GIMP. I see that the specific features I need are on their development roadmap so I'm hopeful I can kick this Adobe habit soon. Photoshop makes me want to jump in fire.
Some day I'll try and do a comic in Blender. Not in 3D or anything, just using it for page layout and composition. It should be possible, the question is will it be practical?

Unfortunately, Photoshop tastes horrible. But her other options aren't any better--Picasa tastes like a Mcdonald's burger, and GIMP is too much of an acquired taste.
Also, this comic is best pony.

Photoshop is at least a decade past its expiry date.
Thanks for the compliment
