Description Why art is never easy.

This is not a bad thing.

This is not a good thing.

It's just a thing.

It's about how people say words easily without thinking, especially to beginners (which can be pretty discouraging) how others perceive goals compared to what artists feels - that the journey IS the destination and that one improvement follows an other into an endless learning curve.

I can be scary at times but we deal with it. Try and get a regular person to understand the concept of infinite and their brain will melt.

I think artists are the bravest people on Earth and they are also a little bit nuts because they understand the physics of things.

unfortunately even though I tell my students they should only compare themselves with themselves and their own progress and how far they have gotten... I also have to push them out of their comfort zone, otherwise the learning curve ends.

It was not meant to be a bad thing, btw, I never meant for it to be a negative or a positive thing... it is just a thing, a fact, we live in limbo hahaha and it is difficult to be happy with ourselves, especially when we see what others do (I guess this second bit it's the human nature)

hahaha don't worry, I never took it as a disrespect.

I actually wrote this thing mostly for my students because they feel frustrated by the contrast of "I love doing art" and " I want to do art for a living".

I am trying to teach them to develop a coping mechanism.

Well thats awesome! What exactly do you teach? Just art or something like Buisness Art? (if thats even a thing)

I know how they must feel though. Recently I thought I wanted to do Music Production as a career because I love music. However, the fact that I always had to relate it to money started to bother me. And instead of being an enjoyable passion, it became more about the money. And that is a terrible feeling for me.

Obviously doing something you absolutely love for a living is ideal. But I just never want my love for things to turn into something that I'm more focused on money than the passion.

I teach in the field of animation. So my students definitely want to enter the industry.

Of course they have to handle what you just talked about and it is not easy for them. The working culture is harsh.
