The Pirate Balthasar
Wilson Kane wins a fortune and his future bride at a game of dice from the former pirate Balthasar. When he decides to go and get the girl, the pirate way, by kidnapping her, not only he finds out that she is more than a pirate could ever want from a wife... but that she has 4 identical twin sisters as well. This discovery hits him when his men, who were supposed to help him out, each kidnaps a different girl... and none of them gets the right one! But Wilson Kane wants the girl he had met and no one else! Luckily for him it will be the girl herself to solve his problem and put an end to his dilemma... a solution that will eventually fling her into a world of adventures on the Mediterranean sea.

Have you been inspired by Skydoll or some other Barbucci's drawings?

Actually no, but it just so happens that both barbucci and I are italians and we both worked for disney (although I lived in the Us at the time) - i think it is just a imprint. I discovered Skydolls only 3 years ago after someone else mentioned its existence to me.

I was looking at the Caravaggio's today and thinking how many of the figures portraied looked like him. I think your drawings look like you too but it's one thing we all do: we put ourselves in the drawings.

I think the lips... and the expression. Of course our expressions always fall on our drawings (una bella tracimazione emotiva).
So for example every expression you see in the pirate balthasar... are mine ^^" and I know it... because I know I am very animated when I talk and I make funny faced... especially the "eh?" and the "gah" open mouth... or the pouting or the talking with the mouth sideways, which I call "bocca a ciabatta" (slipper mouth LOL).
plus when they gesticulates I know it's me there hahahaha and the ankles and feet those are mine.

In the case of the Castalia here the resemblance is stronger because the eye size and shape are closer to your RL ones, thanks to her lowered eyelids here :>. I'll be crying staring at this pic when you are away, I know already XD.

I'd say that their boobs ad wrists (with the ulna distal tip jutting out quite a lot) are pretty close to mine. The lips... possibly *checks kissy poses in the mirror XD*

The lips the lips... like, when you talk you pucker up at times hahahaha.
I know Castalia has big eyes and I make them big because.... even though I start from a Little Mermaid base, adding up James baxter with the simplification of the figure, I do trust Osamu Tezuka's philosophy which says that bigger eyes can give you more freedom of expression.
For example when I do the Tex Avery eyes I just bulge them out and shrink the pupil (pupils actually do shrink when you are surprised oooooh) but the size change very little... but when they wink or when Pea uses the super power... that's when the expression stands out because the eyes turn into slit. And that's what makes Pea's super power... so powerful XDDD
