My argument would include a tidbit of your views, as well as a large amount of "because fuck logic", and also the fact that genes are finicky little things and are liable to go on beast mode at any moment. This, this is a creature that will no doubt be found someday, likely on the shores of Japan and be featured in a shaky video as well as countless slideshows on youtube.
