Artemis knew something was wrong when Cynthia did not come to school.

Today, she and Delphin, her beloved, had all arranged for an outing of sorts-- it only felt right, so the two nearest to her heart could better aquaint and get to know each other. Both of them had expressed interest in spending more time with each other, and, well.... why not go out and spend some time together?

But on the day, she and Delphin were alarmed to see that Cynthia did not come to school. It was odd-- Cynthia always called and let her know if she was ill and would not come. And throughout the school day, she did not come, dispelling any doubts that she was asleep.... and the silver haired girl was starting to get the feeling that something was wrong. That's why, after school, she took her girlfriend by the hand and made her way over to where the girl was living, alone... and all the lights were out.

...Not only that, there was a presence in the air. Something was definitely wrong; but she wasn't sure how. Cautiously, she pushed Delphin behind her, opening up the front door, expecting something to lunge... but nothing comes. Instead, there is Cynthia, sitting right in the middle of her floor, black fabric spread all around, her blue sash undone, missing the brooch.

This was not Cynthia. This was Princess Hecate, and Artemis knew Cynthia did not enter this form without good reason. Delphin begins to question what is happening, as she can hear something, but cannot see, but Artemis gently shushes her, telling her to stay put... and she ventures inside, just a little further.

"....Hecate?"

The girl stirs. "...What?"

"What-- What's the matter?"

The long haired princess turns to her, brooch clenched in her hands, tears streaking down her face with the horrible, crushing loneliness Artemis knew all too well in her eyes.

"I don't even know anymore."

SUDDENLY ANGST

I got inspired to do this little diddy after me and spoke about Hecate and her love life. She mentioned that no one truly likes to be alone... and the thought of the intense, crushing loneliess catching up to poor Cynthia.

AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS.
