the dark and white values are nicely balanced in this one. and the off-centered-ness was RIGHT on. the only thing i'd change, compositionally, is get that background shell away from the border. don't box objects in. either cut them partially off, or give them some space.

again, I agree. I keep neglecting the background. Most of these pictures were simple snapshots to see how my camera responds to different situations which I used to experiment with in GIMP.

thanks my sister and I have lots from a few years ago..we were going to make a garland of shells, never got around to that... but they do make great models for pictures
