Ich habe zwar ANgst vor ME4, weil ich absolut keine Ahnung habe, wie die mit den drei "doofen" Enden ein SPiel machen wollen, denn die sind ja so untershciedlich

Denk mal an damals den ersten ME3 Trailer und wielange es dann noch gedauert hat

I honestly thought Miranda was bisexual, considering the tone of her voice whenever she spoke with Femshep (especially in the third game, in my opinion). The same goes for Tali. The imbalance of the romantic interests is ridiculous.

Apparently according to cut content, the idea of having Thane as a bisexual option was posed, but not used

I played through as a straight Femshep, and although I loved the romance with Garrus, I really wanted to romance Zaeed. Come the Citadel DLC, where Zaeed comments that he always thought Shepard was beautiful, and cue this reaction out of me upon the realization that it was as far as a semblance of a romance option with him would ever go:

Kaidan is not there in ME2. Jacob cheated on you, Thane die...

Yeah, that confused me about Jack, especially considering in the Citadel DLC, when she and Miranda are fighting, Shepard can tell them to just kiss, and get it over with already, let Jack can only be romanced by a male Shepard. It boggles my mind. I'd personally love to have Jack as a same-sex option for Femshep, due to the fact that she's a well-rounded character.

On the topic of Kaidan becoming a same-sex option, that's one the things I wish Bioware would have done earlier. 

Correct, Kaidan, Jacob, Garrus, and Thane, as well as: flirting with James Vega that goes absolutely nowhere (actually goes somewhere in the Citadel DLC, but the scenario in question felt more like a female on male quasi-date rape session that made me feel uncomfortable), getting turned down by a Joker, and a one-night stand with Javik in the Citadel DLC. I'm flattered, Bioware.

Then again, to be fair, Ashley also isn't there in ME2, romanced or otherwise. 

You know, a common criticism I hear about the romance mechanic (and I believe it to be an excellent criticism) is that when a character is not romanced, the majority of his/her development is not seen by the player. For example, when I romanced Garrus, he confided in my Femshep about how he wishes for something to go right "just once" in ME2. If he's not romanced, this development is missed. A Shepard who isn't romancing him can ask about what he did on Omega, and talk about how he, ahem, "blew off steam" with a female turian scout, but that's about it (other than the "callibrations" recurring gag) I can agree with this criticism because it comes off as lazy when a character's full development is only seen through a romance. While I understand that friendship and romance are two different items, people open up to friends just as often, if not more so than a lover (this isn't for every circumstance, of course, but in the world of Mass Effect, a friendship should be just as important as a romance).

Hi this is a really belated reaction to your comment but I wanted to add--I know exactly what you mean about the thing with James. I went to look it up on Youtube after I found out you could have a fling with him only in the Citadel DLC and I went all o_O and felt kinda gross watching Femshep kinda bully him into accepting her attention. How does Bioware manage lovely stuff like the Jack romance scene in DLC, or Samara, and then do that to James? D:

In the wake of it though I have to say it solidified my impression of James as a kind of secretly sensitive guy/gentle giant (when not in combat). Poor guy.

I've heard theories that it's Bioware's way of kind of getting back at the fans who demanded a non-romanceable character become romanceable. Not only is that petty, in my opinion, but to do that especially with James is ridiculous. Like you said, he is too nice of a character to have that sort of mistreatment.

I'm hoping that theory is not true, mainly because I read somewhere (TV Tropes I think) that James originally was planned out to be bisexual romance option! God, could you imagine? That make me feel even happier that I accidentally ended up with a Vega/Cortez "pair the spares" ship when I played the game, even though I think he's currently intended to be taken as straight (nothing wrong with that either after all). Course maybe both theories are true, there was a team of people on the game. 

I was really surprised how fond I was of James by the end. I started out going "what the hell, who is this meathead random character they're sticking me with" when I met him at the start of ME3 and then there's that bit when you go down to the cargo bay and talk to Cortez while James is like doing chin-ups or something, and Steve makes an offhanded comment about Vega caring more about his muscles than his gear, and James is all "haha! You know you like the show, Esteban!" and I liked him from that point on. Mainly because while I'll ship anything, having a straight guy/gay guy friendship is a pretty awesome thing to include in a game too.

I think my Femshep and my (hypothetical, since I haven't replayed the series) Maleshep would be on James if that was an option. I actually really like the Vega/Cortez ship. It's very cute.

I agree with you there about James. It took me a little while to warm up to him, but by the time my Femshep and he began duking it out, I was sold. He seemed like such a genuine and kind individual, albeit a hurting one, yet he doesn't drown in his past. I was especially happy when Shepard called him a "good man" during the goodbye dialogue she had with him; it reflected my sentiments of him exactly. Not to mention the fact that his Fortify ability came in handy. Still, I wish James hadn't been portrayed so stereotypically in his dialogue. Being part Hispanic myself, I facepalmed at the gratuitous Spanish from time to time, especially considering the fact that his voice actor wasn't pronouncing Esteban right. Even so, that is just a cosmetic thing, and it doesn't take away from his overall character.

Your description of him works for me too. After the little boxing match I was actively caring about him and I loved when he came by to talk to me about the N7 thing <3

The accent, well, let's pretend in "reality" he pronounces everything right (maybe I'm lucky I couldn't tell the difference). The gratuitous Spanish is pretty damn stereotypical too, buuuuut I have to admit I find it to be part of his charm. I guess the latin charm stereotype works on me, oops.

hätte mir echt gewünscht, dass man mit einer Mission, oder mit einem Aktivposten ihn retten könnte.

Ich bin ja in meinem fanfics so, dass wenn man sich mit den Salarianern gut versteht sie allen helfen können. Die aben die Genophage ershcaffen, sie geheilt, und können alles mögliche klonen. Da können die ja auch sicher das Kepral Syndrom heilen, Miris gebärmutter wiederherrichten und eventzell sogar die probleme mit dem Ardat Yakshi gen beseitigen
...denke ich jedenfalls. Wenn man sie einfachmal fragen würde

aber ich glaube die salarianer nehmen sich selber zu sehr wichtig als das sie anderen helfen können denk einfach mal an die dalatrass... aber ja ein schöner gedankengang. aber miri hat keine gebärmutter? O_o hab mir schon was ähnliches gedacht da sie genetisch hergestellt worden ist und so nicht in der lage ist kinder zu kriegen aber das sie das organ nicht hat wundert mich^^

Jedenfalls einen Tumor und nach der OP konnte sie keine Kinder mehr bekommen.
Ich mag sie sehr, viele finden sie etwas zu arrogant, aber ich mag ja eh jede ME Figur.
Einige natüürlich weniger, aber nicht leiden, kann ich gar keinen
