Description Christopher Reeve will always be the one and only Superman to me. I painted this with Adobe Illustrator CS4. It's called a vector painting because all the colours and lines are made up of vectors, not pixels. Based on original photo by Cap70.

I never thought nobody would care about Superman. The majority of Marvel/Image/DCAU fans but not all seems to dislike him which confounds me because should dislike the writers who demonized him poorly b/c they don't get him.

I'm surprise to see that you get him and it shows on this work.

I am impressed with this work, especially for a vectoring medium.

Thank you.

Thanks. I spent a lot of time trying to get the right colours. Originally I thought the assignment had conditions to limit the number of colours to use. Superman is getting a makeover by J.Michael Stracynski in Earth One. Personally, I think one of the best portrayed Superman was the Superman animated series by Bruce Timm. Superman was also well done through Alex Ross's Kingdom Come(I have the individual issues in my collection). ^^ In this age with 'heroes' going to the Dark Side and using 'extreme' measures, I hope Superman will always be kept as a goody 2 shoes. Because he's best that way.

That's where I humbly disagree. I've felt the Superman animated series is subpar to Batman: TAS and that's only because Bruce Timm is obsessed with the Dark Knight mythos way more than the Superman mythos. He's not as passionate about Superman as Alex Ross, Grant Morrison & JM Stracynzski are. If he were, then his Superman show would've had a depth in nuance as he did with Batman. Superman was portrayed as stiff, boring superhero who hardly does cool heroic stuff, and I've felt no depth and passion with this character that Timm had failed to deliver. This effected the young public's perception of Superman as a farmboy, BBB, etc. Whether it was unintentional or not Timm's insensitive, unfair take on this mythos has helped promoted "Superman Hate" even further and that's bad business for the company I think. If J. Michael Stracynzki did this brillaint writing for the cartoon as he just did for the Earth One GN 20 years ago, we wouldn't had this kind of problem. I hope I'm not sounding unpleasant in this comment...it's just that it's bewildered to me that someone like Timm gets overly credited for the wrong reasons, because while I feel that he has done very, VERY big for the Batman franchise, he has done very little for Superman. Which is why I feel that J. Michael Stracynzki is passionate enough and sympathethic enough and creative enough to prove the public that Superman is not obsolete, he's more than just a boy scout, he's more than just a farmboy, he's something else worth keeping and it's my hope that SM: Earth One would make Warner Bros. promote the mythos respectably to the ill-advised public, because they need to be well informed.

Points noted. I have been intending to get a copy of SM: Earth One. ^^

I would also like to apologize for the bad grammar in my long comment. Instead of using the word 'bewildered' which is past tense, I should've used the word 'bewilders' which is present tense in a sentence.

Thanks for understanding dH360, and keep up the good work.

Thanks Azhar. I was attending a course in graphic design recently. I learned how to paint vector graphic portraits. It takes a lot of time to use the pen tool to outline all the shapes and colours.
