Okay. Most of you by now have realized I'm trying to figure out how to humanize GLaDOS, and yet still represent the character. The last two passes were more direct translations of her robotic form. I realized, while off on vacation a while back, that I wanted to come up with a personification that was more true to her character. I've borrowed an idea or two off some of the humanizations of her I've liked , and wanted to throw some new, different things into the mix.

Anyways, one of the things I hit on during vacation was that she needed not just a typical lab coat, but a Mad Scientist Look. Black long gloves, long white labcoat that buttoned up to the neck, etc. The other thing I wanted to do was a hairstyle most people don't seem to attribute to GLaDOS. The duo-tone one kind of just came to me after looking at an original character doodle I had lying in my HD that involved long jagged hair.

Anyways, I really like this take on her, and I think I'm going to be more or less settled on her. There's a definite android vibe to this - I wanted to suggest this could be a body she'd assemble for herself out of boredom (you know, now that Chell's not in the Center anymore, and I imagine robots aren't quite going to cut it, either). Thus, the robotic legs, and the fairly lean frame. As you can guess, I stuck with the Portal 2 look as she's more streamlined, and the red eye is my nod to the personality cores.

I'm not going to lie to you - I wanted to give her some sex appeal, but not the crazy anime-girl, or tarted-up versions. Rather a more subtle appeal suited to her voice. But I hope she's still creepy enough.

You will be seeing more of her, and I will be posting drawings as they come. I've some time off this week, some of which is in the next two days, so.... yeah. Enjoy.

I think about 45 minutes tops in Photoship CS3. I don't bother looking at the clock when it's a casual drawing.
