I've had this one sitting around as lineart for a while, mostly because I wasn't entirely happy with my earlier humanization for SHODAN. So here's a new one, mostly inspired by my having SHODAN as my desktop wallpaper for the past two weeks. I realized that her face looked like it was made up of cables, and the "hair" was basically cables. So I thought....this woman would totally be made up of cables smooshed into something approximating a human shape - sufficiently creepy and unsettling to suit SHODAN. I also put in a bit of an homage to the Borg Queen in that stretch of chest and neck being visible too.
Jade Harley's Dread Shuffle skirt from Homestuck is also an inspiration for SHODAN's bottom half there. Hehe.Anyways I really liked the idea that SHODAN (as referenced in ~MuriraRK 's GLaDOS has an Ex comic) also has this thing for trying to get humans to join up with her, and always get killed by said humans when they realize she's just a manipulative, evil, digital b*tch...
Okay GLaDOS is way less of one than SHODAN, relatively speaking, but still... >_>
But I thought it'd be hilarious if my character and GLaDOS had a few things in common: finding the completely ridiculous irony in SHODAN having a humanoid form of any kind. Ahahahaha.

Yep. My android design for her. Good spot without any real obvious clues about who she was. Most people come on this piece from following me for the Portal fanart of the same android design. *shrugs*

I like SHODAN more the GLaDOS for some reason even in design SHODAN is better I guess because she has human like face rather then a single optic like GLaDOS

The real irony is that I just stare brainlessly at SHODAN's humanoid form for like half an hour. God, she really looks pretty. Oh, what a creepy fanboy I am...

Okay, I know that this is subjective, and you won't like it, but judging from your comments I do not believe that you understand SHODAN's character, because you have not actually played the games. SHODAN is scary, and -this is important- competent. Her death traps do kill you, her tricks take you in, and she has an ego large enough to be a great classic villain. No, she isn't funny like GLaDOS is - she isn't meant to be. GLaDOS will snipe at you with sarcasm until you got to her chamber, where she'd release a slow acting neurotoxin. SHODAN would try to kill you right from the start, and in fact surrounded her 'throne room' with hard x-rays so that even entering would kill you, in addition to elite cyborg guards.
...Sorry. I get personal over stuff like this sometimes.

*Shrugs* That's okay. This was supposed to be a humor piece, not one showcasing how scary SHODAN is. I have a friend who did play the game, and explained enough to me. I don't deal much in her because one) I do agree she's supposed to be a beyond-anything-scary AI who actually has smarts about how to kill humans, and two) I don't have enough of a handle on the way she talks and the words she uses to pull off a serious characterization anyways.
So pretty much all you'll see out of me as far as SHODAN references are humor pieces.
Lately my focus is back on GLaDOS these days anyways, so I doubt you're going to see much of SHODAN, if at all.
And no, people mischaracterizing characters I know well would get on my nerves too. Don't remind me of the cute Vocaloid android designs for GLaDOS.

Agh, I honestly don't know enough about SHODAN, so there's no reason for me to feel defensive. What I know is based off Wiki, and my one friend who says she's pretty much a very nasty pro-machine racist. >
So in general, I pretty much agree with you. And I was aiming for comedic impact only on this piece. Realistic!SHODAN wouldn't have had a humanoid form like that to start with, IMHO.
(You're talking to someone who has a bit of an attraction to GLaDOS' robot form, so it's not like I need an AI character to have a humanoid form...)
