Periodically I find myself admiring SHODAN's design, and I end up trying to do some kind of android or humanization for her.Someone had pointed out they really liked my quick doodle of her that I've had on DA a while. I took a look at the picture and went "I can do this better now."
So I did.
And then I saw some awesome art of a cyborg woman on Tumblr that makes me want to do it over again.
Anyways, enjoy your now human-shaped psychotic evil AI overlord. I think she's still got wi-fi to that orbital laser though, so don't go all Claptrap on her, please. GLaDOS would just sass you back. SHODAN...well...you wouldn't survive.

I love the cable/tentacle/skirt thing. makes me picture her sliding across the ground, no footsteps involved, like the animated versions of Morticia Addams.

Kinda fits the lore of System Shock, as SHODAN possesses a woman (Rebecca) on the Von Braun at the end of System Shock 2. She looks pretty damn cool

It almost worked for Imhotep in the second Mummy movie with the Scorpion King. XD When he turned to him, Imhotep just bows and goes "I am your servant!" Saved his ass. Heh.

Although, I think the mouth is a bit too smiley for her.

Well I imagine her having an almost perpetual smirk, like "I'm always better than you are, I am immortal, I am a goddess, and you are NOTHING but an insect to be squished under my boot." That's got to keep her fairly happy...in a cold, homicidal sort of way.
Thank you. I had this huge SHODAN wallpaper on my desktop for a few months in a row last year, and I think the idea of her having a body built entirely out of cables came from that. Because when I looked closely at that image, it was basically a face shape built up by wires underneath the surface, and branching out from that face was all the cabling. So then I realized SHODAN wouldn't go for a solidly human structure. Human-like maybe but it would have to be very robotic to suit her taste. And the cables made perfect sense in a Medusa-like way. Immediately it defines her as robotic and mechanical, but also creepy.
However, I've got a few more ideas crawling around in my head that'd make said construct a lot deadlier. Nasty claws. Cable whips. Sharp spiky things somewhere in there. But something with a definite Goddess vibe as well.
I'll probably post that whenever I get around to doing it. XD

Well, since she actually is physical now and her body was seemingly similar to her digital one ( see here: www.rockpapershotgun.com/image… ) This might be pretty close to her, although she did use legs.
And the cables are pretty creepy, though one could clearly see hers floating in the one singular video sequence you can see her sillouette, that might work out pretty creepy as well? Could be tried, anyway.
As to how to get the goddess effect... I am not sure. Maybe have her green electronic lines spread from her legs/cables to her surroundings? Or maybe use some filters to distort everything around her a bit? She did have reality bending powers and what not, for a short while.
But it's true, you give her a very Medusa-like vibe (pun intended) and it does work really well. All those cables must have been a bitch.
Dammit, now I want to work on that too! Posting on Deviantart is just so depressing, because everyone else's art seems so much better, hah.
