I saw the couple walking around this exhibit of a trussed up donkey, and noticed the girl seemed a bit shocked at what she was seeing. Her boyfriend took her by the hands and tried to console her... well, that's how it seemed to me at the time!Taken at the Saatchi Gallery, London.

Oh my goodness, yes she does seem a bit upset. It's simultaneously very pretty and disturbing. Was the donkey made to look alive? The artist is very good - they have given it delicate ears, and almost graceful-looking legs.

You get the sense of that. Perhaps she was questioning why someone would create such a sad scene.

I think from her point of view it actually looks even sadder, it's realistic looking (apart from the colour, but you don't really see the colour as your brain sees a dead donkey, tied up on the ground, if you know what I mean). It is quite an unsettling piece of art. I guess it's meant to shock.
