Description Taken early morning on the way in to work (okay, i took a very slight detour to see this)

‘Fighting fire with ice cream’, a giant Christmas tree in a seven-metre ‘cube of ice’ was recently unveiled at King’s Cross by British artist Alex Chinneck.

The tree, which stands at 17 feet tall and is adorned with 1,200 lights, is seemingly frozen within a bespoke ‘ice cube’ in Granary Square; it will be on display until the 6 January 2017, and free to view. At night, there are fountains either side of the cube, which are colourfully lit.

The artist has previously built a two-storey house made of wax bricks which melted over 30 days, an inverted electricity pylon that balanced on its absolute tip (A bullet from a shooting star) and a stone building that appeared to hover on Covent Garden Piazza.

The 'Ice Cube Christmas Tree' is the height of a two-storey house and has been carved and cast from two tonnes of resin. You can also see what looks like a puddle around the ice block. Apparently, the artist poured over 550 pounds of clear wax to get the desired effect.

The installation is free and will be up from 2 December until 6 January 2017.

I want to ask you: are there another ice sculptures in London? (We have a lot of them already, and new ones are on the way. Ice sculptures are some kind of my hometown`s brand )

They are normally only around during the Christmas period, but they have a big ice scuplture event at one of london's big parks as part of "Winter Wonderland" event see
hydeparkwinterwonderland.com/a…

I guess you have perfect weather for them
