Very powerful imagery here. The iron-gray sky and rain complements the feel well. It took me a moment to realize the head is actually a bomb as well. Overall the colours strike me as well balanced too, those red dynamite bars are a clever addition for the colour them besides befitting the idea. Worth a fave!

hey
No problem for a break in step, so for this one I did this way ( still a bit jumpy from one software to another, but I like it, not that annoying )
0) Traditional sketchbook : pencil gathering ideas.
1) Gimp (composition ) : crappy sketches + cropping ( I'm fast with selections copy/paste , and crop with rule of third, and 'allow growing' option to recrop outside the image is also cool for this composition work ). I also upscaled to the definitive resolution > *.ora
2) Krita ( speedpainting, grey ): fast in speedpainting at even high resolution, and good ergonomy and not laggy as Gimp. I work the values , textures come mostly from brush engines > *.ora
3) Mypaint ( detailing ) : I like to use Mypaint for detailing , I guess I could do this step also in Krita ; but my brush presets for detailing in Mypaint exist while I still have to research with Krita the good settings to build similar or better presets. > *.ora
4) Krita ( colorize / color adjustement with layer blending modes ) : Krita is the best option to colorize for now thanks the HSY color mode of Plassy. I couple this to a bunch of other layer, often 'overlay' and 'dodge' are involved. > *.kra ( to save layer blending modes ) then flatten > *.ora
5)Gimp ( Level / Color balance / Vignette effect / a bit of cinema compositing )+( Textures / Decals ) : Because the one in Krita still crash and preview don't work, I prefer to done this step in Gimp. Pasting on the top some textures , play with the grain
6) Mypaint ( detailing, last touchs ) ; as detailing.
7) Gimp ( for final cropping of Mypaint extension to round 16px canvas ) + Save for web plugin to export the final JPG.

Hey thanks Ramon.
I couldn't find really on internet a translation for the french 'Ordalique', but Google translate proposed 'Ordalic' and a search about lead me to find some psychological writting about it in english ; but not really definition.
To resume the meaning in a nut shell :
"Ordalic behavior is a behavior related to someone looking for an active risk-taking, more often to feel more alife, or to hope beeing saved by a spiritual unknown force."

Well, Ordalique is a very exhotic word, nice to see you have a more deep side. it remembers me the "Hungry" picture you made time ago. full of sense
