One of the strips that started in Penthouse Comix that seemed like it had natural potential was Libby in the Lost World, done as a sexy parody of Frank Frazetta's Thunda comic strip.

Unfortunately it ran out of steam and I was asked to see if I could save it. I said I'd try as long as I could own my version. Thinking that rights weren't actually important they agreed so Alex Horley and I did a ground up rebuild of the character but created new characters to tell the story with.

That character was LATISCHA OF THE LOST WORLD and was the most popular strip we ever ran in Penthouse Comix. I was very happy to persuade Boris Vallejo to do the covers for our story.
