Description
In one image Jim Steranko tells you a story and gives you the back ground on this complicated demi-god. The body posture, lighting and color choices Jim made sets up the beginning of Hercules who is more troubled and conflicted than the version we are familiar with in other comic books.Artwork © Radical Studios

The 'real' Hercules was quite conflicted, and killed his own family, and so on, so this is all quite accurate.

The writer, Steve Moore, was the perfect writer for the project as he has an encyclopedic knowledge of both the myths and the history of the time period. It is set in the same time period as myths of Hercules originated.

Steranko has an amazing sense of composition. Beautiful image, and very... well... narrative!

He can tell so much in a single image, often more than an entire comic.
