WhitePedal, maybe you're right, but maybe you're not. Whether Spirit deserved Kami leaving him, where exactly is her moral high ground for using her husband cheating as an excuse to completely abandon her own daughter? If she couldn't handle staying married to a cheater, that's fine, but you don't get to play the hero when you leave your /child/ with the man you couldn't stand anymore. And it's kind of hard to 'work things out' with someone who ran away to travel the world leaving you alone to raise their kid.
Besides, I don't remember anywhere in the anime or manga that it outright said he cheated. I always took it as he's just a natural flirt and couldn't stop even if he wanted to, and Kami didn't want to deal with it anymore so she divorced him and took off.

I feel bad for Spirit in this but what he did to Kami by cheating on her was inexcusable and he tries to get Maka to love him again but Maka is disgusted by how her father did that to her mother behind her back and tries to act cool. All he has to do for them is apologize, stop flirting with other women and just be a father and if he wants work things out with Kami.
