Description
TwistedRealmz VI"had to to turn, lay down,
your sting of disease.
phase you out, should've seen this coming.
go on confusing the soul,
hold my breath 'til you rupture."
-chevelle "closure"

i figured i would include a small explaination to this piece, so it wouldn't be misinterpreted or just be seen as "another gorey, gothic piece." in fact, it should have a deep, significant meaning to anyone who views it. the easiest way for me to convey it in words is by the breakdown of the word "heart." in japanese there are two different words for heart: shinzou (a medical term for the physical heart) and kokoro (the emotional heart/soul). in english, there is no differentiation of the two uses of heart. with that said...
what makes a man? a soul. the soul is housed in the heart, while at the same time the heart performs its duties for the body and keeps us alive. so, in a sense man needs both the "shinzou" and "kokoro" to survive. without the soul/emotional heart, man is just a hollow shell that does not feel, or refuses to. in the moment of pure pain and suffering, u cannot deny the thought of removing the heart to silence ur "kokoro"......
CAUTION: THIS PIECE IS GRAPHIC (so don't complain about it, it is ur choice to view it).

I love this.. it's so raw.
the explanation was interesting and i'm glad you included it for that reason, but it wasn't necessary. It's immediately obvious that this picture has a deeper meaning and isn't done simply to show blood and gore.
excellent!

if this could have been more perfect I would have short circuited my keyboard with tears.. this is what it feels like.. this word -closure- the concept, the .. but you already understand this.. for your portrayal of this is exquisite.. absolutely exquisite.

That is such a great line. It really makes you feel this piece when you see the heart in the hand. It's perfect how you made it b&w then left the red for that impact. I remember when I saw it at TR I was in love with it. It's really great. And I'm glad it's a close up and focus on the heart.

MUNK!
my god!!
im going to tell you right now that this is my absolute favorite piece from you.
The emotion in this is beyond raw...
bringing internal external is always an amazing view.
and my sick ass self loves stuff like this.
The black and white and the red for the heart...absolutely stunning...
i love the detail...the way the image as a whole just fits so perfectly.
the thin line of a black border totally sets it off completely.
Fantastic work on this!!!
love it!!

to me this needed no explaination... the meaning is apparant
and so in your face.
love the pose... and the heart in hand as if freshly plucked
from the chest.
a picture is worth a thousand words that can never
be spoken.

Very powerful indeed. Great textures throughout the piece. The heart isn't moist and fresh...it is soft, papery...tired. Nicely done.
