Actually I'm very calm when I'm listening to slayer, the aggression, conflict, chaos, violence or whatever would reside in the music itself, draining mine with it, it gets pissed off for me. Generally I need to be already calm to listen to music, I never fucking need calm music when i'm mad, it just doesn't work that way, gotta vent, get exhausted first. Sorry I didnt get you at first, if I did now.

okay... if i listen to good metal music, i always get in a mood, that i would characterize as 'positive rage'. like if you turn on 'psychosocial' i can't keep calm but have to mentally bang my head...

But getting something from the music to you, you're enjoy, use and welcome, in opposition to canalizing a storm out and looking calm in appearance, I would reach you there thinking of.. suicidal tendencies for instance or Nuclear assault. Maybe I don't really enjoy slayer, but use it to put in a jar something I wish wasn't a part of me. Interesting topic anyway!
