"Debuting in 2018, Generations Selects is a series of exclusive figures sold mainly through online retailers, intersecting multiple thematic sublines of Generations. The line consists of special edition redecoes and retools of Generations figures, packaged in brown cardboard mailer boxes broadly similar to the late TFCC Figure Subscription Service.

As with other Transformers lines from 2018 onward, Hasbro and TakaraTomy attempt to make Generations Selects equally available to fans in each other's primary market. U.S. and Canadian fans (except in Québec) can purchase Takara Selects figures from Hasbro Pulse while Japanese fans can purchase some Hasbro Selects figures from TakaraTomy Mall."

Hey there this is Dex coming back at you with another post for Transformers Month and this time we have Generations Selects which is pretty much Hasbro doing BotCon let's be honest. So when they started this in Power of the Primes I didn't grab Red Swoop but did try to grab Ricochet and got fucked over by Amazon (Yey thanks...), Then for Siege I didn't grab Smokescreen, Nightbird or Hot Shot while I wasn't able to grab Combat Megatron and Galactic Man Shockwave though I do hope to grab those two. I was able to grab Red Wing, Lancer, Both Cromar and Zetar of the Powerdashers (Shocked to see new toys of them) and the japanese version of Soundblaster, all of whom are good toys. For Earthrise I somehow was able to get all the Bots they made for Gen Selects that year. So I gots Exhaust, Hubcap, Greasepit, Hot House, Bug Bite, Tigertrack, Rotorstorm, Deep Cover, Black Roritchi, G2 Megatron and G2 Ramjet, Cordon with Spin-Out, Decepticon Sandstorm, "Soundwave's Spy Patrol 3rd Unit" (Aka Wingthing, Frenzy/Rumble, Skar and Knok), then finally Shattered Glass Optimus Prime and Ratchet. All of who are very good toys. Then for the ones they did for Kingdom I didn't grab Artfire or Galvatron/Galvatron II but I did grab Transmutate who was pretty cool and well, it's not like they'll make a toy of her again eh?

Then for Legacy I didn't grab Targetmaster Cyclonus or Black Zarak (Oh boy Black Zarak does look fucking badass though). I was however able to grab Lift-Ticket then DK-2 Guard (Whoever the fuck he is) and DK-3 Breaker (Again, whoever the fuck he is) and they're pretty good toys, I just have a weakness for Diaclone recolours. For Legacy Evolution I haven't been able to grab Magnificus and Antagony but do plan to buy them at somepoint then I had to pass on Guardian Robot with Lunar-Tread even though that set looked fucking fire. Then lastly for Legacy United I didn't grab the Autobot five pack with the redos of Jazz, Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack and Hound since I already had better versions of those five but holy fuck can't believe that earth mode Hound mold finally came out for the fuckers who waited TWO YEARS! for it, damn. Then we have the TakaraTomy Generations Selects line in Japan and I was able to grab Turtler/Snaptrap and Gulf/Skalor who are both really good but got fucked over and wasn't able to grab Kraken/Seawing, Lobclaw/Nautilator, Overbite/G1 Overbite and Tentakil/G1 Tentakil to form Piranacon/King Poseidon, on the bright side though I got the God Neptune set made up of Halfshell, Scylla, Coelagon, Sea Phantom and Terorrmander who are pretty good. I wasn't able to grab a Star Convoy but I'm working on that but I did get my hands on Super/Ultra Megatron who is so fucking good, like holy shit!

Oh I almost forgot, the manga Takara wrote for their version of Gen Selects is batshit crazy, it's some weird time loop type bullshit where everything already happened and since it's all in Japanese you get to play a game of "spot the bot in the background". Though I must admit the Primus Vanguard are so cool, they give me Power Rangers of Green Lantern Corp vibes. You have the Red Order led by Red Sentinel Prime, The Blue Order led by Blue Big Convoy, The Green Order led by Green Tender Convoy, The Yellow Order led by Yellow Splendid Convoy (Who's a chick), The Black Order led by Black Go Prime, The White Order led by White Gallant Convoy and finally the Purple Order led by Purple Wicked Convoy who's so badass in a dumb way.
