Description
"Titans Return is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, constituting the second portion of the Prime Wars Trilogy.Introduced in mid-2016, Titans Return (initially touted under the early working name Titan Wars) features its own new line-wide gimmick: all Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader Class figures include a Headmaster-style Titan Master partner, all of which are completely interchangeable. To compensate for the size differences, Leader Class figures feature large helmets that cover the Titan Masters, while Voyager Class figures have spring-loaded pop-out adornments to "bulk up" their heads. All Voyager and most Leader Class figures are Triple Changers; each Leader Class figure's third mode is a base/battle station, which can be manned by the Titan Master figures. Each Deluxe and Voyager figure's hand-held weapons can transform and/or combine to form a "turret" that any Titan Master can sit in, and which can attach to the base modes of the Leader Class figures. Most figures feature several tiny pegs dotted across their bodies, which allow Titan Masters to stand securely on them.
Additionally, a new Titan Master assortment was introduced, each including a single Titan Master, plus a small vehicle or beast. These can transform into a vehicle/beast for the Titan Master to ride, a second vehicle/beast formed by combining with the Titan Master, and a 5 mm weapon for a larger figure to wield. Legends Class figures started out as predominantly Mini-Cassette characters, which can transform into both a vehicle and a blocky PDA that can fit inside Leader Class figures such as Blaster. Starting with Wave 3, this changed into focusing on Mini Vehicles which can often carry Titan Master passengers.
Voting for the second Titan Class figure was conducted via Facebook, with fans choosing between a remake of Omega Supreme, Trypticon, or Scorponok. Trypticon won, but the other two got new figures in the following trilogy."
Hey there, Dex back again for another day of Transformers Month. This time we have Titan's Return the best toyline in the whole Prime Wars Trilogy hands down. We were eatting good with this toyline. Though I'll start off with the toys I didn't buy. For the Titan Masters I didn't buy such as Crashbash (Aka Squeezeplay), Loudmouth (Aka Siren), Nightbeat, Terri-Bull (Aka Horri-Bull), Apeface, Brawn, Clobber (Aka Grimlock), Skytread (Aka Flywheels), Fangry, Ptero (Aka Swoop), Sawback (Aka Lione) and Repugnus who I didn't buy due to waiting for normal versions of said characters we ended up getting later and I just couldn't find a Sawback to save my life. I do however have Shuffler, Ramhorn and Overboard (Aka Overkill) who are pretty neat. As for the Legends Class I didn't buy Laserbeak, Ravage and Rumble (Aka Frenzy) since I had versions of them. I did however have Rewind, Stripes (Who I replaced with the MP version), Wheelie, Bumblebee, Gnaw, Kickback, Brawn, Roadburn (Aka Chase), Cosmos and Seaspray all very good toys. For the Deluxe Class, I didn't buy Blurr, Scourge and Kup since the Japanese versions were better and then I couldn't get my hands on Krok or Quake. Thus I had Hardhead, Chromedome, Highbrow, Skullsmasher (Aka Skullcruncher), Mindwipe, Wolfwire (Aka Weirdwolf), Hot Rod, Windblade, Perceptor, Breakaway (Aka Getaway), Twinferno (Aka Doublecross), Topspin, Twin Twist, Triggerhappy, Misfire and Slugslinger who are all very good apart from Skullsmasher and Breakaway. For the Voyager Class, I didn't buy Megatron or Optimus but I did buy Galvatron, Sentinel Prime, Alpha Trion, Broadside, Astrotrain, Blitzwing and Octone (Aka Octane). The Decepticon Triple Changers were really good, Alpha Trion and Sentinel were both fun if a bit odd in terms of their alt modes and I'm mixed on Galvatron and Broadside to be honest with ya. For the Leader Class, I didn't buy Soundwave, Sky Shadow (Aka Black Shadow) and Powermaster Optimus Prime (Who wasn't even a Powermaster). I did however buy Blaster (Who I sold to someone), Six Shot and Overlord the later two who are very good. Then for the Titans I got both the Fortress Maximus set with sword and Trypticon, I can't help but love these big lads, more so Trypticon who I feed Botbots or Micromasters from time to time lol. I didn't get any of the Exclusives such as the Titan Force set as I didn't want it, the Wingspan and Cloudraker two-pack as I like my Generations Brainstorm and later got the Japanese versions of the Autobot and Decepticon clones. I didn't grab the Titan's Return versions of Arcee, Grotusque and Repugnus as for the later two I got the Japanese versions. Then I wasn't able to get the Chaos on Velocitron or Siege on Cybertron sets though from the Velocitron set I would've loved to have gotten Quickswitch and Nautica while I don't mind missing out the later set. Lastly I didn't get the Primitive Skateboarding Optimus Prime and Shreddicus Maximus set but I must admit, Shreddicus Maximus is a fucking awesome name for a Transformer, Tony Hawk has to voice Shreddicus in a cartoon or something.
As for the Titan's Return based comics they did for IDW, They were alright, not the best and I didn't even waste my time watching the show after how God awful the Combiner Wars show was, though I heard they got Peter Cullen to be Optimus Prime so that was pretty cool and Jason David Frank of Power Ranger fame was in it too. (RIP Tommy)
This has been Dex, over and out.
