Description "Power of the Primes is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, and the third and final portion of the Prime Wars Trilogy.

First revealed in mid-2017 at San Diego Comic-Con and subsequently debuting at the end of the year, Power of the Primes, in keeping with the previous two toylines, features a line-wide gimmick: "Prime Masters", small Titan Master-type figures that represent the sparks of the Primes. Unlike Titan Masters, Prime Masters are available in their own pricepoint, where they are packaged with Pretender-style decoy armor, but can interact in some way with all larger assortments.

Legends Class figures retain the ability to seat a small figure in alt-mode, whilst the Deluxe and Voyager Class pricepoints see the return of Combiner Wars-style Combiners. The combination joints remain unchanged, whilst the hand/foot system is tweaked: all Deluxes now include a hand, and all Voyagers a pair of feet. These accessories (dubbed Prime Armor) also facilitate the Prime Master integration for those size classes: Deluxes can use their hand as chest armor, into which a Prime Master spark mode can slot, and Voyagers can use their feet as forearm bucklers, which similarly fit a Prime Master. All Voyager Class figures also include an Enigma of Combination, shaped like a Prime Master spark mode, that can fit onto their combined mode chest. With the exception of Inferno, none of the voyagers can grant their respective combined modes a sizable weapon.

Finally, Leader Class figures feature an "Evolution" gimmick, wherein each toy includes a Deluxe-sized character who can "evolve" into a Prime by combining with additional armor. Each Leader includes a uniquely-colored Matrix of Leadership, the central crystal of which can be removed and replaced with a Prime Master.

Similarly to Combiner Wars (except for US-released Deluxe Class figures) and Titans Return, all figures from Legends Class upwards continued to include character cards, except this time there were twelve different variants of every character's card, each containing a combination with one of the twelve Prime Masters.

Before the line's release, a fan vote took place to determine a character who would become a new Prime in both the toyline and accompanying stories, with Optimus Primal claiming victory, and a place in the Leader Class assortment"

Hey there Dex at it once again with Transformers Month, This time we have Power of the Primes the finaly part of the Prime Wars Trilogy. First we'll go over the toyline. For the Prime Masters I had all of them such as Liege Maximo/Skullgrin, Micronus/Cloudburst, Vector Prime/Metalhawk, Alchemist Prime/Submarauder, Alpha Trion/Landmine, Megatronus/Bomb-Burst, Quintus Prime/Bludgeon and Solus Prime/Octopunch, I thought these little guys were pretty neat but I hate how Amalgamous Prime, Nexus Prime, Prima Prime/Prima and The Thirteenth/The Arisen came with the Throne of the Primes set that I'll touch on in a moment. The Prime Masters as I said seem pretty cool and I love the cards telling you how each Bot would use them but which Pretender was paired up with each Prime felt very random and Legacy has done a great job bringing back the Pretenders in it's own way. For the Legends Class I didn't grab Tailgate or Windcharger but have Beachcomber, Outback, Cindersaur, Skrapnel aka Shrapnel, Slash then Battleslash and Roadtrap who form Battletrap, I thought these guys were pretty good though I wish Cindersaur looked more like his classic self also Slash being the first ever female Dinobot toywise is great! For the Deluxe Class I didn't grab Jazz but had all four Dinobots (Slug, Swoop, Sludge and Snarl), All four Terrorcons (Blot, Sinnertwin, Rippersnapper and Cutthroat), Then Dreadwind, Blackwing (Aka Darkwing), Moonracer and Novastar (Aka Firestar). I really like the four Terrorcons and enjoy the Dinobots even though I know not everyone likes them, I kinda wish they used the Power of the Primes Dinobots for a Power Rangers crossover. Dreadwing and Blackwing/Darkwing were good too while Moonracer and Novastar's mold wasn't the best and I do hope the get updates. For the Voyager Class, I didn't grab Starscream but was able to grab Grimlock, Elita-1, Hun-Gurrr and Inferno. Inferno is alright as a redo of Hot Spot and Elita-1 feels weird as a jet but it's the only toy of her that's the same size as Optimus which made more sense to me and her combine form of Orthia looks cool (Also Elita-Infin1te which was an older combine name is really fucking dumb). I really liked Hun-Gurrr and Grimlock was alright but making Abominus and Volcanicus was sick, also Volcanicus isn't half bad for a Dinobot combiner, something that people are half n half on. I forgot to say this in my Titan's Return post but I hate the stickers they put on toys during Prime Wars, they were shit. For the Leader Class I didn't grab Optimus Prime/Orion Pax and Rodimus Unicronus/Nemesis Hot Rod but did grab Rodimus Prime/Hot Rod who I really like and Optimal Optimus/Optimus Primal who I also enjoyed but did end up getting an upgrade kit which makes him so much better. Then yes I got Titan Class Predaking who I very much enjoyed but also bought an upgrade kit for. Lastly for the Exclusives. I didn't grab Nemesis Prime/Nemesis Pax with Giza though I've almost bought it a bunch of times and it looks really cool, then I didn't grab Wreck-Gar as he looked shit and then there's the Throne of the Primes set. The TOTP set has Optimal Optimus done up in season one Primal colours but with Amalgamous, Nexus, Prima and The Arisen as his Prime Masters, This set should've been Primal Prime as they wanted to do in the first place as Primal Prime in canon is the Matrix of Leadership given life as it's own Bot and the little Optimus Primal toy could've been Apelinq but no they chickened out n shit. I did grab Punch/Counterpunch who is fucking amazing. Overall I felt like Power of the Primes didn't really stand out as it was just a mix of Combiner Wars and Titan's Return with only the leader class toys doing anything that stands out. If that makes sense?

So lastly Power of the Primes didn't have a comic but it did have a show and I'll be honest, I liked the Power of the Prime show way more than Combiner Wars and Titan's Return, like it felt like there was a real plot and the fact that dudes were getting bodied left and right does help keep you on the edge of your seat, I was shocked when Computron got once shot by Rodimus Cron then we watch Devastator have his body parts shot off one at a time and Menasor gets his neck snapped like holy shit. Then both Predaking and Victorion get their heads ripped off like damn. Also rip Sludge. I love how it took a big ass gun to finally put down Overlord. I will admit I feel like Slug, Swoop and Snarl could've been killed off since they pretty much don't do fuck all after Sludge's death. Grimlock was cool at first but he was just there to be big, dumb and goofy like G1 Season Three Grimlock. Optimus Primal was fine but his voice performance was flat and him becoming Optimal Optimus just kinda happens with no real build up ya know? I honestly felt like Perceptor did most of the heavy lifting for the show since he was the one getting shit done while Windblade is as annoying as ever. I was shocked that Hot Rod didn't die as Rodimus Cron (Shit name by the way) but the show implies he might kill himself afterwards so I dunno. Megatron was the star of all three shows to be honest and as the leader of our heroes he was great, his death was bullshit though and him once being Galavatron doesn't make sense in this universe if Unicron was already a flying skull. Megatronus/The Fallen felt kinda lame since yeah he rips off Predaking's head but that is all the cool shit he does and the reason he wants to kill everyone is because he killed his girl friend Solus because he forgot to put the safty on for his gun. (Megatronus must be from Texas I guess), Which reminds me love Overlord's southern voice, the voice actor did a really solid job with Overlord and he was a great villian. Then you gotta love how Optimus Prime just randomly comes back to life at the very last moment since the bastards didn't want to pay Peter Cullen money. Oh and Starscream comes back at the very end as a ghost, that little shit. lol

This has been Dehaxis, over and out. Also Happy 40th Anniversary to the Robots In Disguise who are More Than Meets The Eye. Till All Are One!
