Mer-who? Yeah, It's Mero. I don't think there's a pic of him on DA that doesn't suck

Hopefully this is the first unsuckworthy on to go up.

Anyways, I actually did this over the Thanksgiving break (as seen on the date in my signature if it shows up), and it was one of my prouder pictures that break. I really like it, to say the least, even more than a month later (which doesn't happen a lot). I wanted to work with shapes in this, but I also wanted to work on other stuff, like, drawing wind, or liquid, or whatever. And all in all, I decided to draw Mero, someone I never draw to often anymore, and draw him with some floating ink. The ink itself took around an hour or more to color in the right way, and I still don't know if it really came out right or not :/ I like the end product of it, and I tried to transition it coming off the brush. It could've been a BIT smoother, but, it works I guess.

I had to draw Mero before the ink though, obviously. I tried many new things when I did this. For one, I defined his nose into one that actually sorta looks distinct. Now, it looks a bit what I imagine his nose to sorta look like (not nearly as detailed though), which is straight coming down and sort of round when coming to the bottom. You can't really see the bone in his nose though, which kinda sucks, but hey, another thing to work on. The other thing I decided to do was do something different with his eye. I made it more shaped like a human eyeball, and the iris and pupil looks like how it did back in the day. So, I like that. Also, more detail in his mouth. I added little bits and features that sort of made it more realistic (like trying to shape his teeth), and I put his bottom lip in the anatomically correct spot for him. I also put a dip in the top lip, even though I did almost nothing with it. I did some details in his face too, but you can find that.

Easily, this picture won the best picture of Thanksgiving break, and I'm glad to have done it.
