like their hair color and fashion sense and.. um.. the passion for Kira? 
okay, okay!! beside those, they're totally unalike
but also, don't you think they could make a cute pair?
so that's why they're unlikely pair

They're like related or something. I bet Mello's bigest pet peeve is being confused asbing Misa. The only other explanation is that Misa is Mello's female dopleganger.( me and my friend are identical too, and we have so much in common, so i know what its like to be confused for the other)

glad you do to it's not as weird as people make it out to be. Misa could be like his mother or his twin depending on how he reacts. if he's broken it's in Misa's nature to want to help. maternal instinct you know, and Mello's been love starved probably. He being an orphan and never shown love he keeps wanting it I wonder how he survived without love as a baby most babies die when they have no love. So yea he's a broken little boy with a dangerous mischievous streak and Misa's a silly dangerous girl also capable of exstreame love and maternal instinct.
