I don't think Anakin's ghost would be very happy with how his grandson turned out.

I honestly enjoyed him. Though I can see he's going down the similar "Berserker" path Vader did where he lent up at the very least his anger and his temper to use in battle instead of lashing out at everything then having to repair it later because HE'LL MOST LIKELY HAVE TO USE IT LATER! And Vader or not, Anakin is Anakin and he's good at repairing and building things. XD cute and funny over all though.

This part in the movie was hilarious XD Especially the stormtroopers' reactions:
"Yeah...I think I left the, uh, tractor beam on...or something."
"I think Phasma said we had to patrol the other side."
"Let's go."
"Yep."
Great work

Every single male descendant of Anakin has been a whinny little bitch, the only differences that make them act differently is how they grew up , like how Anakin was told when he was like 10 that he would be a great Jedi, Luke was like 18 years old before he even realized he was force sensitive (that and he grew up hating the Empire), and Kylo has that little bit of smuggler in him to make him greedy and hungry for power.

at first I was seeing an evil wannabe who has mental problems, but then I remembered his grandfather, Anakin was like that in Attack of the Clones before becoming Darth Vader. Perhaps in the next episode he would learn to control his emotions then lashing out on anything.

I love how it seemed very opposite he was from Vader.
Vader was calm but was more willing to kill his own men for failer. Kylo basically beat the tar out machinery and damaged the room but was not as willing to kill his men, even if they failed.
Also Kylo is young and still at war between light and dark where as Vader was straight up darkside. They didnt go out of their way to make a Vader copy, they made him his own character.Β

No matter how much he tries, he will never live up to Darth Vader, Anakin joined the dark side to save the person he loved, Kylo was just a greedy little child who wanted to be cool. Even though Anakin and Kylo had very similar whinny personalities, Anakin matured and grew out of it, and gained the most evil and intimidating voice in history in the process. PUBERTY FOR THE WIN BITCH.Β

I agree! In the back of Kylo's mind his thinking 'well its not really his fault.' but it defiantly this machinery's fault! DIE CONTROL PANEL DIE!

I loved, absolutely loved Kylo Ren.
He was intimidating and as the film went on, he became a more developed and in-depth character.
Vader was bad ass, but lacked a lot of character.
The scenes where ren just loses his shit and throws a tantrum are both hilarious and scary as all hell.

Not really. Vader has a lot more dignity. Kylo just seems like a whiny teenager with anger issues then an in-depth and intimidating villain. Also, he couldn't beat Rey and Finn who have no experience in lightsaber combat. How did this brat take down the Jedi order and get Luke Skywalker of all people to leave?

adp133 In reply to Generalobiwankenobi7 [2016-04-24 07:51:14 +0000 UTC]
He couldn't beat them because he was SHOT WITH THE STAR WARS EQUIVALENT OF A HIGH CALIBUR SHOTGUN!
Not to mention that Finn has had some combat training and knows at least the very basics of combat. Hell, a Lightsaber is basically a sword. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know how to swing it. And even though Finn held his own, it was very short and he was severely outmatched. By the time Kylo Fought Rey, he had killed his father sending him on an emotional roller coaster, been shot by Chewie's gun (which the movie built up as incredibly powerful), suffered blood loss, been sliced in the Shoulder cutting his movement down, and Rey had tapped into the Force. Not to mention, not only is Kylo not as trained as everyone says, (he never finished his training), Kylo wasn't trying to kill Rey. He wanted her to be his student.

Generalobiwankenobi7 In reply to adp133 [2016-04-25 00:19:52 +0000 UTC]
Not enough to keep him from swinging the blade though. And while Finn has combat training, it didn't cover wielding a laser sword. You can't give someone who know how to use a gun, give them a sword and expect them to use it. Wielding a lightsaber, wielding any sword, requires knowing more than just knowing how to swing it. Without a greater knowledge the sword would most likely fly out of a novice's hand, or worse cut themselves.
It was a pretty long while, Finn really gave Kylo trouble. Considering how undisciplined he is and how poor his lightsaber wielding and construction skills are, I think it's safe to say Ben was a poor Jedi. Even when he wasn't shot when you see him use that thing it's in a very sloppy and unwieldy manner, with terrible form and barely keeping the blade steady.
I think Kylo Ren really just sucks at what he does, it's no wonder he fell. He lost to someone with no training, no experience with either the force or a lightsaber, even if she had tapped into the force it's very recent and she has no experience with it. Kylo is a poor comparison to Vader.

Ok. Let's say that Kylo beat them both hands down. How does that make the heroes look? I think it should have been a more one sided fight on Kylo's end too, but the fact is that Rey is growing stronger. Kylo ren even states that The longer she's free the more powerful she becomes and that she is Untrained, but stronger than she knows. Plus, if you read the novel, it goes into great detail about how Kylo Ren is feeling after murdering his father. The novel says that he expected to be immersed I. The dark but instead he felt empty pain and even guilt. Then we see him shot with Chewie's bowcaster, a gun that in this movie kills and throws back everyone who is shot by it. Yet Kylo tries to walk it off rather than retreat to heal. In this sense, he's a lot like Anakin rushing in to face Dooku and losing his arm or Luke rushing to face Vader and losing his hand. The skywalkers are not known for biding their time while they are young. The fact that Kylo was able to fight as well as he did given these circumstances is a miracle. And the fight between Kylo and Finn was only about 43 seconds. That is a slaughter on finn's part. He got in ONE LUCKY SHOT. But the rest was just Dominated by Kylo. Then he faced Rey who ONLY PROVED A TRUE CHALLENGE AFTER SHE ALLOWED THE FORCE TO FLOW THROUGH HER. The Jedi have said that even an untrained swordsman can defeat a Sith if they allow the force to work through them. Kylo doesn't do that. He uses the force as a weapon for his own desires. He does not allow it to control his actions like Rey did. This was his ultimate undoing.
And going back to what you said, Ben IS a poor Jedi. He decided that rather than train and improve his abilities, he would choose the dark side and go down the easier path. But even in his slaughter of The Jedi, he had help from the other Knights of Ren. I doubt he did it all himself.
You don't have to like the character. You have every right to hate him and I Would NEVER tell you that you have to like him. I feel he's a lesser villain myself, but I'm just trying to point some things out

Then maybe they shouldn't have done a lightsaber duel. There's no rule to say they had to. When Darth Vader dueled Luke on Bespin Luke already had good experience wielding a lightsaber plus training from Yoda, so he could hold his own. But we all know Darth Vader was holding back considerably during that fight so Vader didn't look weak at all. Kylo on the other hand looked incompetent, not helped by his previous temper tantrums and general whininess. No matter what excuses the novel gave for him losing the fight in a cinematic experience he appears like a fool. In fact the novel seems to paint him as having no control or focus so he looks even more incompetent. I fail to see how this loser managed to wipe out the Jedi order. Luke would have walked all over him.
Anakin still looked far more skilled and capable because he actually held his own against a much more experienced and powerful opponent, same with Luke against Darth Vader of all people. Rey and Finn? No experience at all with a lightsaber except maybe Finn who is still not a long time practitioner. Finn still gave Kylo trouble, making Kylo look pathetic, and then fighting Rey who was just starting to use the force mere hours ago makes him look worse. It doesn't matter if she let the force flow through her, she's still a novice. And no, that Jedi saying(which I have never heard before) is complete nonsense if you don't have trained reflexes and years of experience. It doesn't matter how strong you are with the force because the force is drawing on your physical ability to work, and you need to have good knowledge of the force to channel it. Why do you think Jedi and Sith train day in and day out rigorously to keep themselves in top form? Remember, Obi-wan also said the force also obeys your commands. You direct it as well as letting it guide you, it works both ways, the Jedi and the force working as one. But if one lacks the proper skill and knowledge it's next to worthless how strong you are. Otherwise what's the point of training at all?
The other Knights of Ren are hopefully more competent and impressive than Kylo, otherwise I fail to see why Luke would feel the need to leave.
I know what you're trying to say. But it really doesn't change what I actually saw in the movie. I've seen Jedi and Sith fight with much worse odds and do better. This just looks like the filmmakers built Kylo up too much.
