Description I Stay Away no.309, by Alice in Chains from the album Jar of Flies

Yeah, I want to travel south this year
Aaah, Woah, Woah
Won't prevent safe passage here

Why you act frightened
I am enlightened
Your weakness builds me
So someday you'll see

I stay away

My 365 art project, where I create a year’s worth [yep, 365] of digital collages, with indie songs as my subject.

I do remember those Japanese monsters from my youth - though my favorite
monster/ Sci -i Fi  pics were the original 'Thing' -'Them' - and ' Invasion of The Body Snatchers'.
( I'm pretty damn dated

Oh, me too. I recall watching Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster at the drive-ins, I was excited about that. The movies you mentioned are old sci-fi classics. I never got into the classics.

Pretty cool stuff.  Kudos for the Alice in Chains inspiration there as well.

Thank you much. I was looking for energetic but self-destructive themed songs. It was between Filter, NIN & Alice.

NIN definitely has a few self-destructive songs, haha... possibly more than AIC.  I used to really love NIN, and I know their catalog a little too well.  Got any manips with their song titles?

Not to come off wrong, but I hard a hard time connecting the songs to the collages on a few of those.  NIN tends to be rather personal brooding music mixed with anti-establishment themes... with dark videos generally having to be censored or altered.  I mean no offense, but the titles seem tagged on as an after thought... the images you picked and their placement don't resonate together with the lyrics in my mind... BUT music AND art is totally subjective, so what do I know?

I find the bands Swans, Deftones, and Isis to have interesting song titles... especially "Goddamn the Sun" by Swans.  But again, it's rather subjective.

Yeah, I completely agree with you and appreciate the rare constructive criticism. Sometimes the songs ARE picked as an afterthought, and sometimes the song comes first, then the art becomes super literal and forced. Every once in a while, at least with my stuff, the two elements come together and gel, in ways that surprise me... like this one.

I’m still a newbie to Collage, which I find so freeing compared to Graphic Design, my initial field. I will check out your bands stated, I’m lately getting into darker, heavier music. Lovin’ Alcest & Calla right now!
