Beautiful raptor!!!
To be critical, this is not a falcon (falconiform). It is a buteo, the original buzzard... more specifically, this is a Red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis).

On the photography... this is a great image. The subject fills the frame very well and the color is good. I agree with the prior comment on the highlights being hot, however, the hot areas are small and few. (You did well.) Also, the background being the same color as the subject is a little bothersome, BUT... because the background is a tad darker, it's not as distracting as it could be.
_________
The darkness of the eyes, and the broadness, length, and dullness of the beak makes me believe that this is an adult. The broadness of the head makes me think that it's probably a female. If this is a falconry bird (or a captive for education/rehab) the beak needs to be coped.

np. I have a few shots I took of the bird I had for falconry (red-tail) in the depths of my gallery... not specifically for "photography" purposes, but mainly for reference for artists. Also for education. It's difficult to get the perfect photo of a raptor due to the light/dark coloration.

To be quite honest I can't find anything to be critical about.

well, the price of the Rebel's should be coming down with the XT out and the 5D on it's way -- keep your eyes open! Check out Fredmiranda.com for some good deals on used equipment!

Very sharp image, the feathers look especially... Feathery.

I'm bad at critiquing photos So yeah I can't give much indepth thoughts, but I do agree with Valimar about the eye.

Absolutely gorgeous.

I guess if i were to be ultra-critical to the point of being nit-picky, try and capture the eye in full light. You've achieved a marvellous clarity in your image and the ctachlight in the eye is awesome, but the eye would look even better if it weren't half dipped in shadow.

Like I said, I feel crappy for being so nit-picky, but there you go.

Nit-picky is fine! I like the detailed response... thank you a lot! It was a diffficult exposure to achieve... and some of my shadow detail was lost since I did not shoot in RAW.

yea... the light is distracting.. The highlights here are "hot" or "blown out" which baseically means that some detail is lost due to a tough exposure.

Sharpness and contrast are great, I love the brown tones. Not something I normally would like either- but this is a great pic.
