I love this photo. The washed out colours make it look so bleak and stark yet it's packed full of natural life, all the vegetation make it look so alive and magical. Really entrancing! great job!

Thank you, it's much appreciated.
Not sure I was aiming at a bleak photo though, lol.

I love the scene, and the way you've framed it. If I could make one tiny suggestion though (and if you think it'd look stupid, feel free to ignore it): considering how light draws the viewer's eye, you could burn in the left edge of the frame a bit (especially where the sun is reflecting off the water) and slightly (ever so slightly) dodge the pathway just where it meets the bridge.

Hmm, yeah, the bright part is bothering me too, but I'm not sure what I could do, I tried burning it a bit, which made it grey, then I tried coloring it with the color sampled from the sky, it didn't look all that natural. I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Or maybe all it needs is to have the shadows burned in a touch. At the moment, part of what's giving it that luminous feeling is the light flaring off the water. If you were to burn in the reflected tree trunks on the extreme left edge so that they are as dark as the reflected reeds, that might just do it.

Did you burn it in the RAW converter, or in Photoshop? If you drop the exposure in the RAW, it might work a touch better. Failing that, you could try adding a vignette to the whole image. But if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

I did all the editing for this shot in Lightroom.
I'd try burning the tree trunk though, that might do it, I'll see to it later on. Thanks.
