Description
This is my impression of how an artist may view the world - if you just open your eyes, you come to realize that there's some form of beauty or art in everything.I made a few updates to this picture, did some colour correction on the eye, changed the border, etc... minor stuff so I hope everybody who fav'd it before still likes it - if you want the original back just let me know.

Wow, what a brilliant idea for a photo manipulation, I love it! This would make a nice print.

Haha I actually got around to doing it today too! I never do anything I plan on, it\'s kind of wierd... if you recall the first, and you\'ve seen the second, I dunno if the seconds better, I hope so lol

Oh yeah! Great idea!
Maybe the picture could have been cropped a little lower,
so that the edge of the eye didn't touch the texted line?

Sounds like it would've been a good idea I had a lot of thoughts on different ways to border this after I put it up... it's that after part, something like hindsight, it'd be more useful if it happened before.

Brilliant Concept and execution, though the title slightly bothers me.

Whoops, just re-read what I wrote and realized it was quite vague. I was referring to how the title of the work is within the picture itself.

Yeah, and it's pretty big too instead of being subtle and out of the way... kind of detracts from the focal point ey? I've been playing with different ways of putting borders/titles on pictures since I started learning all this, and I think I've come to a conclusion with my last two... no more titles. Problem solved.

It doesn't look bad, and the font is actually quite nice but maybe it's a little overboard. Still, it's a great piece Looking forward to your new works

I think I could've spent a little more time on it and found something that worked better - I may revisit it yet, I still think I should touch up the eyes a bit (the skin tone, as was pointed out above).. if I do, the font/etc will definitely change.

Heh, yes of the "here's how you can do it better next time" variety I seriously fluked on this one, it's been my most popular deviation to date, and it was seriously just meant to be a momentary distraction from a larger project I'm working on... all the comments and favs already have been more than expected, I can't thank everybody enough as is

what a unique idea, I like this very much, the eye color just grabs attention. I like the framing also. (saw this on tecwzrd's journal). Nicely done!

Thanks! I honestly didn't think it was that unique when it popped into my head, but I'm glad it wound up being You've got some pretty nifty artwork of your own, I like!

As someone who is partially blessed with a photographic memory this piece truly does have a unique fondness to me
The detail you put into this from the color section to the font used was perfect

Borders are hard! I had so many ideas for ways to display this one... I'm glad you liked it, it was inspired by a friend of mine who's so amazingly artistic, and takes some amazing photo's - I'm trying to get her to come show some of it here, but she's such a busy person like the rest of us...

You canβt go too wrong with a white border but blue might have made it more alive. Iβve added your work to my journal so more people can enjoy it

That's very beautiful. I just got done with a photo-manip involving replacing eyes, that's pretty difficult to do and get it to look nice. Do you have any tips and or tricks for replacing eyes? This is a definite favorite.

Any particular aspect of it that you're having trouble with? I'd love to try and help out - I noticed you do some digital painting, and really well from the looks of it, maybe we could trade some tips, I really want to learn that!

Sure! I paint in photoshop, and more often than not with a mouse *haven't got a tablet*. So anything I can tell you about painting can be done twice as well with a tablet. Anyway, my main deal is getting the perspectives to line up, as well as contrasts and shading. In my piece Error 404 I used the dodge and burn tools a lot as well as some bluring to get the mac swirley things of doom to look alright, but there's still something about it that bugs me.

I wish I had a tablet, it'd make a lot of things that much easier, not just the painting.. I'm doing battle with a mouse as well. What's NMM? I know a few people that have painted miniatures but I never learned a whole bunch about it. I think this painting skill is going to take a while to develop, it'd probably have helped if I had some background in painting almost anything.. the only thing I've ever painted is houses.

I haven't found a tutorial but I found a lot of colourful commentary on the process... something about that and the "eavy metal way" that a few people have put up web sites to scoff at. O well, I know nothing of painting, in any medium, so I'm completely opinionless on this so far haha

Thanks The longest part of doing this was deciding on the colour for the eyes... the whole photo was black and white to begin with so colour was big on my mind... I've got a version with blue eyes and gold highlights, but I decided to go with straight blue cause it just seemed to flow better. Thanks again!

I haven't seen this other version, but this one is still really good.
I assume you mean the entire image was black and white, including the skin. The first time I looked at this picture, I noticed the area around the pupil and iris- where our eyes are usually white- it's skin colored. It looks like some skins just reaches all the way in to the center of the eyeball. I thought it a bit odd, but getting past it is easy, with such a distraction as the colors. Magnificent, they are, indeed.
Pending some more thought, and after I've gone through your gallery, I think you'd be watch-worthy. (And after I try out your brushes. Very excited to try them out. )

Which other version? Oh hey I just realized I never put up credits for the stock. I'll have to change that..
I can't believe I let that slip right by, I didn't even think of it when I changed the color balance. What a beginner mistake I played with it a bit more, and wound up with this ... I was trying to get a sort of reptilian/snake feel to it, but I should have started from scratch again, cause when I was done and I was looking at it, and the lens... I couldn't think of a name for the life of me.
