Robert's younger days aren't all that fascinating - at least to him. He was born in a large family, consisting of his parents and his four younger sisters. Oh, he despised living with his family; he was several years older than his sisters, and so when the quadruplets were born his parents would seem to pay all of their attention to them, completely ignoring him on most occasions. It was for the better, perhaps. Rob was always a loner, keeping to himself in his room and as far away from his dreadfully annoying sisters as possible.

His sisters didn't seem to care, though; they were all brats. All of them, that is, save for one: Alessa, the youngest. An artist. She'd make little trinkets and crafts for her family, including him. Rob would accept the gifts, but didn't show any immediate gratitude. Even so, his little sister would continue being kind to him, drawing him things, telling him stories. One story in particular involved some lost island, frozen in time, yaadaa yaadaa. While it was her favorite story, Robert still didn't pay much care. Not even when she'd draw him and her in that world, or make him necklaces that were inspired by these stories.

Still, when it came to the arts, Rob had to admit that he had an interest in music, and at a young age he taught himself how to play guitar. When he hit high school, Rob met others with similar musical talents, and before long, they began a band of their own. His parents appreciated Rob's knack for music, but they did not like his friends or the sorts of music that he'd play. Often his father would suggest for him to sing happier music, but this only pissed Rob off even more.

So, the rebellious teen continued to disregard his family's wants for him and went on playing with his band. It was around this time when he met Sakura Ayoto, a gorgeous Mienshao with a beautiful voice. She'd join his band every now and then singing backup, and before long the two began dating.

It wasn't until he met Saki when Rob began to really fall under bad influences. He'd stay up late with his friends, he'd drink and smoke and get absolutely wasted. It was a miracle that he passed high school at all, despite the couple of failed years. But then, college came into question. His parents wanted him to go to college and get a higher education, but he only wanted to stay with his band and with Saki. They finally put their foot down and demanded that he cut this terrible influence out of his life, or else he'd end up for the worse. They never liked Saki, or his friends, or his music. And as such, Rob believed that they never even liked him.

Furious by his parent's disapproval, Robert took the first opportunity that he had to move out of his house, and in with his band mates. He cut off all ties with his family, with his sisters -- all he needed was his friends, his girlfriend, and his music. And, that's all he had. For years, they'd continue writing music, throwing their own concerts, getting whatever money and wasting it all on parties. He was living the life. He actually ended up proposing to Saki, but they didn't rush the marriage. The two were engaged for a few years even after that.

That is, until he learned that she had been cheating on him with one of his band mates. Enraged, devastated, and heart broken, Robert broke off the engagement with her and quit his band without a single second thought. He turned his back on them and moved on with what little money he had.

Twenty-five years of age, and now he's all by himself. He had cut his family out of his life, and now he had lost his friends and his fiance. Rob was at a loss. He couldn't find a job, so he was slowly running out of money to take care of himself. And for a while, he was far too proud to go back to his family to ask for help, given the state that he had left in. He was confused and lost. He had little comfort other than his music, which he'd use to his advantage by performing on the streets for money. And he had his memories which would give him comfort occasionally - though they'd mostly bring heartache.

But he also had the necklaces that his sister had given him. He kept them all this time, despite how much he'd 'not care'. He would look at one necklace in particular; it was a small, old-fashioned looking thing, with fake Ho-oh feathers attached and a small paper with a cliche saying on it. It was cute, he'd admit, but it wasn't really his thing. Yet, it did remind him about Steam - that island that she'd mention in her little fairy tales. He had always made fun of it, told her it wasn't real... But for some reason, now, he couldn't stop thinking about it. An island that stands still in time, created by Dialga himself? In the world that they live in, could that even be possible? Little by little, Rob began to hope (well, less in the sense of 'hope' and more in the sense of 'man, that'd be really cool if it did exist like wow') that such a place was real. Not for himself or anything, but for his little Alli, who would pour all of her intrigue and wonder into the thought of Steam and how magnificent it must be. Alli was the only one of his family that he felt really cared for him, and he wasn't about to let that go without some form of grattitude.

And then, that evening, he received a message through the slot of his old apartment door. A most peculiar, faded letter...

[ Personality. ]

Rob is a very distant guy who does not make friends easily. He doesn’t want to get to know you if he doesn’t have to. He feels as though, from experience, making friends is a waste of time, because eventually someone is gonna piss someone else off to a point beyond repair. Even so, if you somehow manage to impress him to some degree, a certain amount of respect will be gained. In fact, if he 'respects' you, that's probably as close as you're going to get to 'friend' status. But don't worry, respect actually goes a long way with him, even if he doesn't place in in the best of hearts. He's very biased towards talent, especially musical talent, and if they believes you're talented then he'll think you're useful, either to him or to the community the two of you share. It's a shallow attitude, yes, but one he holds to heart.

He can be very defiant and determined - not a good combination. If Rob doesn’t want something to go a certain way, he will do absolutely anything to prevent it, and it's going to be hard to convince him otherwise. In his world, it’s his way, or it’s the highway. Rob is also pretty hotheaded; when he’s angry, he will strike more with words than anything – though he’s not about to step down from a fight should there ever be one. He has decent physical strength and will often show force when he’s pissed, though he tends to aim more for walls and objects rather than people. Coupled with his rebellious attitude, he can be quite a rule breaker; this 'I DO WHAT I WANT' attitude has gotten him in more trouble than any normal person would like to admit, and yet he doesn't care enough to change.

That is, until he moved to Steam. Rob sees Steam as a way to turn his life around and, sort of, atone for what he's done. Whether he'll take that promise to heart remains to be seen. He does try to muffle his bad behavior, to some extent.

Another important thing to note about Rob is that, if he isn't close friends with someone, he's actually very unattached. Should this acquaintance of his break his trust in any way, he will throw them out of his life completely without a single thought or regret. He's been abandoned already, and knows how it hurts. He's not going to let the betrayal affect him. And so, he takes it all in stride, accepting that this acquaintance has never cared, or will care. Still, he will hold a grudge towards them, and he won't be so keen on letting them into his life again after what they did.

Given his experience with crowds, strangers, and even fans, Rob isn't shy. But that isn't to say he's social, either. He will speak if spoken to, but he's barely the one to talk first. Again, that lack of interest in friendship always comes back to him. But he can carry a conversation should he need to, and if he's comfortable with talking to you, then he'll actually grow more comfortable around you. If you're present, he'll gravitate toward you, whether you're friends or not. He's a stranger to Steam, after all, and most likely won't get to know many people all that well.

When he's more comfortable with somebody, he actually quite laid back. He loves jokes and can be rather playful. However, if a joke goes too far, if he finds no amusement in something, he will snap back to his colder demeanor and try and shut everyone out. Especially jokes about how much of an asshole he is. He knows how mean he can be, and he knows where it's gotten him. So, he'd rather you never mention it again. Still, despite how closed off he can be, if Rob actually grows close to somebody, he isn't about to let them go. He's extremely protective, and given his history with people, can be kind of clingy. Granted he ever does befriend someone, he won't want them to leave him. He saw where being alone had gotten him in the past, and he doesn't want to end up like that ever again.

[ Advantages. ]
- Strong. He's not the strongest guy around, but he make a point to work out. If he can't take care of himself, what good is he?
- Musically inclined. He's been singing and playing guitar since he was very young.
- Used to crowds. Rob is accustomed to large crowds and audiences, and therefore has no stage fright.
- Attractive. Can this be an advantage? In his younger days, he'd use his appearance (coupled with his talent) to charm anyone he needed to.

[ Disadvantages. ]
- Hot headed. He's easy to set off, and there's usually no going back when he does. No matter how much he tries to muffle his past behavior, his quickly angered attitude always finds a way back to him.
- Stupid. He's so stupid. He didn't pay much attention in school, and never went to college. He's so stupid oh my god.
- Can't hit girls. Haaa haaa.
- Suspicious. He's suspicious of literally every one he meets. He always thinks there's some ulterior motive for them talking to him, and it takes a long time for him to break his suspicions.
- Holds grudges. He'll hold grudges about anything. Bad first impression? He'll likely never want to talk to you again. People's behaviors are very black and white to him; if there's something bad about you, then you're a bad person, and there's no changing that. So why should he trust you, even months after that bad thing happened?
- Hypocritical. This part of him doesn't surface all that much, but he can be a bit two faced on subjects. For example, bullying. He's a jerk and will go out of his way to be a jerk to someone he doesn't like, but at the same time he hates watching others bully people.

[ Likes. ]
- Music. It is his life, don't ever get in between him and his music.
- Art. His sister got him into art, whether he'll admit or not. He has a respect for good looking pieces of artwork, and people who can make them.
- Mechanics. He might not know anything, but it's pretty cool to him.
- Heights. He likes being high up and looking down on everything below.
- Teasing. As long as it's not aimed towards him. Rob has a strange sense of humor, and he likes seeing people get teased - in a friendly way, of course. Mean teasing is just bullying to him.
- Red. It's his favorite color, yo.
- Fights. Whether he's in one or watching one, fights are always fun.

[ Dislikes. ]
- Swooning girls. He's dealt with them enough in the past to not care much for them anymore. Sure, he'll accept the praise every now and then, but ultimately, it's just annoying.
- Swooning guys. He's dealt with them, too.
- Bad music. Oh, my god.
- Romance flicks. Dear lord they're so sappy and boring.
- Reading. He hates it, don't make him do it. It reminds him of school.

[ Miscellaneous. ]
- Before Rob moved to Steam, he'd go by Trey. He'll still answer to it, but he prefers Rob now.
- Rob is primarily left handed, but is slightly ambidextrous in that he can play both right and left handed guitar.
