Description
Download for full res, is probably a bit hard to read with DA compression lolMYO guide:
-Go ham and enjoy!! MYO's do not need to be sent in for approval, just design one and you're done!!
-The skull can be any color and have any kind of markings however they cannot be made of unnatural material without the unnatural skull trait
-The human form will always have the corresponding yokai forms Ears, wings, tails and horns. The horns however, will always be attached to the skull not the head. To have human only features is a mutation, To have any other features such as scales, fur, animal legs, spines/quills etc is also a mutation
-If the yokai form doesn't have ears, the human form will be default have human ears (normal or elf type) but they could also have miscellaneous ear types based on the yokai form (Eg fish yokai can have fin ears, lizard yokai can have scaled nubs etc)
-The human form will always have unnatural colored fingers/toes, even if it doesn't match the markings in yokai form
-The eyes in both human and yokai form can be unnatural in sclera color and pupil/Iris shape. They can also be glowing or totally hollow
-Both human and yokai forms will have 4-6 gill like slits in each side of their torso, they use these like vents to consume darkness. They can be any size or color, they also often leak vapor or even glow at times
-The yokai form can be any size from giant to microscopic but must be natural in stance. E.g you can only have an anthro canine if you have the super rare 'non-existant' yokai type trait
-The skull type must match the yokai form species. E.g you can only have a canine with a bird skull if you have the super rare 'non-existant' yokai type trait
Trait info:
Common:
Intact skull - Skull is completely intact with no cracks and is always found on the human form somewhere
Existing animal yokai type - Can be any animal that can be proven to currently exist (Dogs, Cats, Horses, Insects, Fish etc)
Uncommon:
Cracked/broken skull - Skull is cracked or has some parts chipped off. Make sure the skull is atleast only 10-60% broken, as the Spirit Skull will loose its life with a skull broken beyond repair. They also tend to be quite weak or sickly with cracked or broken skulls
Extinct animal yokai type - Can be any animal that once existed and is now extinct (Dinosaurs, Saber tooth's, Dodo's, Moa etc)
Rare:
Attached skull - The skull stays as a biological part for the human form. It cannot be removed and is still the same shape as the yokai form skull
Mythical animal yokai type - Can be any mythological animal from any strain of mythology (Dragon, Cerberus, Griffin, Kappa etc)
Super rare:
Unnatural skull - Skull can be made of any material psychical or energy based. (Metal, glass, fire, water, plasma etc)
Non existent animal yokai form - Can be absolutely any made up creature (Canine covered in quills, a canine with a bird skull, absolutely anything alsong as the skull isn't humanoid!)
No rarity:
Bone tail/wings - Any spirit skull can have bone wings or tail. Though it must still match the yokai animal type (E.g rabbit yokai will have small bone tails, canine yokai cant have bone wings etc) it will also carry to the human form
Exposed rib cage - Any spirit skull can have an exposed rib cage. The rib cage is above the skin. It will also carry to the human form
Mutations:
Full human form - The spirit skulls human form can have human traits instead of OR aswell as the animal traits (e.g human ears, no tail, no wings, a mixture of human ears + animal ears etc)
Hybrid animal - The animal will have its base form (E.g Canine) but it can also take any physical trait BESIDES the skull from another species in the same rarity class or lower. This, however, cannot be used to work around rarity (E.g you can't take a horse and add wings to it to get a Pegasus without the mythical animal trait) if you're unsure if your idea will break this rule then ask
Hybrid human form - The spirit skulls human form can carry any traits from the yokai form besides whats already allowed (Scales, quills/spines, fur, animal legs etc)
Human skull - The head of the yokai form is humanoid in nature, or the entire form is humanoid in nature
Extended lore - Extended loreHistory
Spirit skulls are yokai as old as time, in all shapes, sizes and species. since before the beginning of the mundane universe they were found in the flow of life consuming the darkness created by other creatures, they were once beautiful and angelic creatures tasked with keeping the worlds light and darkness in balance. However, after the mundane universe and humans began to prosper and grow, the Spirit Skulls were seeing more unbalance than ever before, human sin, desires, hatred and jealousy was seeping so deeply into the flow of life that consuming all the darkness started to rot away at their angelic appearance, leaving them as quite a ghastly and frightening race.
They worked away at the art of shape shifting in hopes of gaining the ability to merge into human kind to consume the darkness at the source before it could leak into the flow of life, centuries later they finally succeeded in their efforts to gain a human form, however, when shifting to their hum

I'm making my Spirit skull for MYO event. And wanted to ask how would it look like when the skull isn't attached to the body? In yokai form

The skull is always attatched to the body in yokai form, they have a skull instead of a head so its not removable. Hope that helps!
