Once again, the pale detective slumped against the floor, somewhat disheveled and cheeks flushed as he tried to catch his breath. Mello didn't want to be touched was what Near took from the whole ordeal, so it was probably best to refrain from trying again, despite the disappointment that accompanied the thought.

"This is too good." Mello chuckled.Β

A slight scowl is given from a relatively flushed Near, but mostly he focused his attention on calming his labored breathing. "I would like out of the floor now," he remarked simply, seeing as attempting to push Mello away wouldn't yield any results.

Mello realized he was still pinning the albino and his face flushed. He jumped up.

Ah, it appeared Mello realized the compromising position they had been in as well, though the flush on his face was slightly curious...still, Near did little more than push himself upright and return to his original seated position. "Thank you."

Mello coughed into his fist. "Whatever." The blonde mumbled.

Near twirled a lock of hair around his finger and gazed at Mello with those dark eyes thoughtfully for a few moments. "...you are the one that started this. I don't see why you're the one that's embarrassed."

Mello glared at the albino. "I'm not embarrassed."

Near quirked at brow at the blond in return. "Your demeanor says otherwise."

Mello crossed his arms. "Like I should take your word of it 'Giggles."

If Near was embarrassed, it didn't show, other than the sheepish way he continued toying with his hair. "A term of endearment? How sweet of you, Mello."

Mello paused, his face an ever darkening shade of red. "Yeah right."

There might have been the faintest hint of a pleased smile on Near's features for a brief moment, and it was rather tempting to tease Mello further...but, he didn't truly want to insight anger from the blond, so he decided against it. Instead, he busied himself with straightening his pajama shirt that had gotten a fair bit ruffled in the previous scuffle.

Mello couldn't believe how greatest rival was making a fool of him. Thank God Matt wasn't there.

After smoothing the fabric and refastening a few of the buttons, Near paused, recalling his unwarranted touch that had resulted in Mello lashing out once moreβnot violently, but still in a way that told him that the blond didn't appreciate what he'd done. "Ah," he spoke up, fingers once more toying with those white curls, "I..apologize for before."
Granted, Mello had also placed his hands upon him without cause, but he didn't find himself minding as much as the blond seemed to.

Mello looked over at him, raising an eyebrow. Near, apologizing for something? This was a little new for Mello.

"Contrary to what you might think of me, I'm not above apologies," Near remarked flatly to the blond's blatant disbelief, refraining from adding that Mello could stand to let his pride drop and apologize as well. His dark eyes wandered to the fallen playing card stack that had been forgotten until now.
"Either way, I do apologize. Whether or not you accept is your choice."

Mello leaned back, too proud to admit how touched he secretly felt.

It seemed like the earlier silence had returned, but that was fine; now that Near was once more aware of the playing cards scattered about on the carpet, he wasn't so keen on leaving them there. He began collecting the ones within his immediate reach, debating on whether or not he should bother stacking them again.

Mello once more became bored. He was so tempted to go after Near again; so tempted to hear the laughing. Still, it would be unwise to do it a third time, seeing as he was umprovoked this time and now KNEW Near was ticklish.

With his composure now more or less retained, it was almost as if that brief moment where his stoicism crumbled has never occurred...but, that wasn't true, and the blond was the only one that had ever witnessed him in such a state; as if it was a secret shared solely between the two of them, and Near preferred it that way. "Mello," he spoke up suddenly, now returning the playing cards to their box, "Earlier, I stated that everything that occurs in this room will stay between us."
His dark gaze lifted to meet the other's. "I expect that still holds true."

Mello paused a moment. "Of course. There is no need for anyone else to find out about the...events that take place here." He said.

Near felt a hint of relief and there's a flicker of a faint, but genuine smile on his features for a brief moment. "Yes. Thank you, Mello," he spoke, pleased with the blond's agreement on the matter.

Mello, knowing now Near wouldn't tell a soul, smirked. "Then I can do this." He took on a rare, playful nature and grabbed the albino's sides once again, tickling them vigorously.Β

His dark eyes widened and the box of playing cards was quickly dropped at Mello's sudden, mischievous behavior. "MeheHEHELLOβ!" Near exclaimed, his composure quickly crumbling once moreβor, perhaps, he simply wasn't putting forth much effort at maintaining it?βand a slight fit of laughter leaving him before being quickly muffled by his sleeve.

Mello pinned the teen, pinning his arms to his sides so he wouldn't have anything to cover his mouths. This meant his hands were taken however, so the blonde resorted to blowing raspberries on Near's stomach.

Near almost seemed to pout the slightest bit when his hands were restrained; it didn't last for more than a moment, however, before he was sent into another bout of laughter by Mello blowing raspberries onto his sensitive abdomen. His figure was quite small, something that was usually effectively hidden by his oversize pajama shirt, but not like this. He squirmed beneath the blond, unable to keep himself from doing so.

Now fully able to hear the laughter, Mello blew raspberry after raspberry on his younger rivals stomach.

It's not long before his pale cheeks took on a faint shade of red and he's nearly squealing with laughter. "MEHEHELLOβ!"

Mello now used one hand to pin Near's arms above his head. Using a finger from the other hand, he slunk it under Near's shirt and wiggling it in his belly button.

Near jolted and a somewhat high-pitched squeak left him whenever one of Mello's fingers wormed its way into his navel. His eyes watered a little from his laughing fit and the warm flush on his cheeks only grew.

Eventually Mello stopped to let the albino breath, turning around and grabbing his ankles.

Given a moment to catch his breath, Near took the opportunity and dried his slightly dampened eyes on the back of his pajama sleeve. He knew that Mello wasn't done, though, so he exhaled a sigh to let the blond know that he was calmed.

Mello scratched his nail against the ball of Near's foot through a hole in one of his socks.

Near snickered and his foot twitched in Mello's grip as he resisted the immediate urge to jerk it away from him.

Mello decided to step things off, beginning to pull off Near's socks.

Near shivered a little from the chill in the hotel room's air and his toes curled reflexively.

Mello smirked, scratching his nails up and down his soles.

Near all but flinched in response and he bit the fabric of his sleeve to muffle the high-pitched noise that immediately threatened to leave him.

Mello took his chances and started verbally teasingly Near as his blunt nails scratched at Near's arches and toes. "Tickle tickle..."

The flush that formed on his cheeks was a result Near's muffled laughter and not in response to the blond's taunting, obviously. He flinched again when Mello's fingers raked at his toes and the digits curled a little in reaction. "M-Mmnβ!" he snickered, his sleeve only barely muffling the noise.

Mello continued this method several minutes.

It became increasingly difficult not to jerk away from Mello, but still Near refrained, keeping what surely would have been several bouts of laughter muffled by his sleeve.
It's embarrassing, to be sure, but also...fun, in it's own right.

Mello wiggled his fingers between Near's toes. "Tickle tickle..."

Near flinched again and he bit into his sleeve to muffle a high-pitched noise. "M-Mmnβ!"

Mello wiggles his fingers faster with a smirk.

This time, Near couldn't help but jerk as a muffled squeal of laughter escaped him, though he thankfully managed to refrain from accidentally nailing Mello in the face.

Mello scratches his nails and down Near's soles, enjoying tormenting the boy.

Near squeals somewhat with laughter into the fabric of his sleeve and squirms around, his cheeks growing rather flush.
