Lovely shot!
This is definitely not a ferruginous hawk, though. This is a juvenile African Crowned Eagle.

Beautiful shot!
Looks like a young African Crowed Eagle to me. They're amazing animals

Cheers As mentioned, i'm not sure on the exact type... do you think it's a Harpy?

The only reason I was thinking Harpy Eagle was because of the feathers on his head. On closer look, it doesn't resemble a Harpy Eagle that closely I looked to see if there are others in the genus, but the only ones said to come close are the Crested Eagle and Papuan Eagle.
It might help to know where you took the photo? Perhaps the website (if there is one) could help out.

I don't think so, young Harpy Eagles have white crests and they became grey at end with no dark tones.
There are any other info about the bird? The region it came from? How old it is? Because there are many birds that the juvenile feather pattern mimics another species adult pattern. And these feathers back are really crests or are just lifted by wind? and maybe its size?

Beautiful photo! Although I don't think it's a ferruginoous.. They don't have those crest like things, and the markings are quite different.

Thanks, and big thanks for the note, i've been waiting for someone to say something! Any ideas what it actually is? I usually take a pic of the birds sign at these places, but forgot with this one!

I've been getting rusty with my bird IDing and I don't know where this picture was taken or anything.. It's certainly not a harpy, in reference to your other comment.
perhaps whatbird.com/ can help
