I see that you are my neighbor to the south. What part of Mexico do you live in?

Guadalajara? I hear it is nice there. You have mountains and a large lake near you.

I have been across the border but never deep into Mexico. I have a friend from Mexico City.

I am not Hispanic. I guess the closest I have is my great grandmother, who was a full blooded native American. My sister-in-law is Hispanic. She is from El Paso and her parents came over from Mexico. That makes my niece and nephew half Hispanic.

I love the Mexican culture. It is a fascinating culture and it is very intertwined with my Texas culture. And I really love Mexican food

Yeah I think Chapala (the lake) is the biggest from MΓ©xico (not sure tho), its glad to see someone actually likes our culture (I'm not very happy with it, but I'm certainly proud of it :S).I like mexican food too! XD! lol *cheers*!

We don't see too many snowflakes around here. So far, that day was the only day it has snowed this winter. It is in the 70 F (about 23.5 C) outside today.

Sounds like Houston. We joke that we have about 2 weeks of winter and the rest of the year is summer. Not far from the truth.

Thank you. I must confess, this was an accidental shot. My son was standing there and I was going to get his picture.

I am still learning how to use my digital camera (Which is sad because I am an expert with a 35mm film camera) and couldn't get it to shoot because the lighting was to low or something.

Finally it flashed, but my son had run off

We were in the 40's yesterday and 50's today. The next 3 days we'll see highs in the upper 70's, then another cold front will come through and drop the temps back down.

bah I forgot about the calculations ... we used them some time ago in geographics ... I guess

but all numbers still in he plus we have minus values over here

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeloreanREB In reply to 0Greyfox0 [2008-12-17 19:11:30 +0000 UTC]

but that means that snow is rare and that means no skiing or do you have a place to ski?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeloreanREB In reply to 0Greyfox0 [2008-12-17 19:33:30 +0000 UTC]

Houston is the worst place for skiing. Not only is there no snow, but it is very flat.

Now in the West Texas mountains it might be possible (12 hour drive), or even the central Hill Country(3 hour drive).

We usually go to New Mexico or Colorado to ski, but that is a 24 hour drive.

0Greyfox0 In reply to DeloreanREB [2008-12-17 19:35:36 +0000 UTC]

we usually spend a week in the alps about 2 hours from here in a hotel. Nice place up there

XD I just immagined us driving 24 hours trough switzerland since you reach the borders in just a few hours XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeloreanREB In reply to 0Greyfox0 [2008-12-17 19:42:57 +0000 UTC]

That sounds nice.

Texas is big, about the size of France.

I would love to visit the Alps and Switzerland.

My great grandfather came from Baden Baden, Germany. I don't think that is too far from the Alps. (Like most Americans, I am a mutt- mostly German and Italian, with some Irish, Scottish and Native American thrown in.)

I would love to tour Europe and see where my ancestors came from. I still have family in Germany and Italy.

It's a nice place we have over here and so is europe.

I was once in America but I was too young to remember ... it looks beautifull in the videos

One day, I hope to see Europe.

of course it's expensive ... sadly we can't go to other continents for our matura travel (that's existing only over here in swizerland, I have no idea how you call that. sorry), but we can still go to the cΓ΄te d'azure thats fine too

Matura- is that like college or university work?

If I had the money and time, I would love to visit Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
