Description Lover's Ashfall

I get tired of all these tangled metaphors
Lying strewn across the floorboards
Darkened similes and ideas replayed
Swollen wounds from games we've played
Played at for too long.

Words unsaid
Broken silence whispered
Torches flamed
And voices broke our revelry
Life brought death with a touch

It touched us both
Striking down hearts in their youth
To lie bleeding as we do
Bleeding wishes from our veins
Wishes unfulfilled

And tomorrow we rest
On the broken bones of our forefathers
Lovers once,
Now dust
Evidence of corpses blown into the wind

A freedom bought with flames
Smoke choking out solitude
Sparks living in the ashes
Crawling through the graves
Not quite our phoenix

But we soar on wings of corpse dust
An angel made of living death
Her train a curtain of blackened coals
Carrying the deads' shame on her shoulders
But we were not a mistake.

So... this poem's about the Holocaust?

No, but I suppose it could be taken that way. Hmmm... I could branch off of that. Thanks!

Yeah, I thought so. I'm reading a book about it.
Bye.
