Sorry to burst your bubble, but I did one the day before you did yours, lol. I didn't see any Panty & Stocking style anime rendition of them either, which is why I made one. Most of the ones I saw were like going for a Code Geass or shojo style anime rendition.
I like your interpretation, except for Sock's hair length. Everyone seems to give him the same emo style mushroom hairdo, and I don't think Stocking would go for that. I mean, her hair is pretty long after all.

Thanks, and I totally agree. Since it's artwork though, I couldn't help but embellish it with a little detail, but not so much that it breaks the boundary. Kind of like coloring outside the lines, I suppose, lol. Stray is a good word to describe what I did. It used to have more detail and dimension, actually, before I realized how flat the style is supposed to be, so I removed most of the excess detail, which was kind of hard to see anyway.
I took another look at your drawing and noticed the cross pendant Boxer is wearing. I was actually thinking of doing a type of cross pendant, too, but then I decided to give him a puka shell necklace to go with his surfer theme. It's only gonna be on the grown up version, since you can't really tell what it is if I put it on the TV style rendition.
