Hi, - and welcome to dA! In response to your question, I'm not sure that I am the right person to ask. I work exclusively with traditional mediums, i.e. - oil paint and some graphite. If you're looking for tools or technique to simulate the look of real paint for digital images, then I can't really help you because I haven't had any experience with that. If, on the other hand, you are actually using traditional mediums and you are asking how to achieve a textured, impasto, 'painterly' style appearance for your paintings, - then I could certainly give you a couple of suggestions in that regard that have proven helpful to me. Let me know if you are actually referring to traditional (oil or acrylic paint) mediums and I'll write you back. If not, then I wish you the best on your artistic journey and look forward to seeing your digital artwork!
