Description
This is the bento box I got from Morikami in Florida. It's a 1 tier and came with a plastic divider and strap. I like the simple design and I didn't have a blue one yet. This bento contains:Salted White Rice
Cherry Tomato
Filipino Chicken Adobo
Salted Broccoli
Please Enjoy~

Haha Yus! I need to start cooking it and cutting it after because I always tend to cook it just a bit too long -.-

i like to use chicken theigh and marinade it in the adobo sauce before cooking it. I'll let it sit in the sauce for a full day before cooking.

I only cook with thigh. I hate breast.
Ohh that's an idea. I usually let it sit for a few hours, but longer sounds better

I'm ok with breast but thigh has so much more flavor and the texture is better. yea, letting it sit for a full 24 hours allows the sauce to soak in that first layer of meat and its just SOOOO tasty after that.

I find breast to be so dry and tasteless. I much prefer thigh that has much more flavor.
It would break down the meat better most likely. Do you have a good sauce recipe? I think the one I have is too simple really. It's only like 3 ingredients, but I've seen real adobo being made and that recipe I can't get my hands on like half of the ingredients since they don't really sell that stuff here, or at least I've never seen it.

I agree, breast is kinda dry and tasteless and doesn't do well in adobo. XD thigh is much much better!
Hrmm, i don't really have a RECIPE recipe because growing up i've just watched my mom make it and sort of picked up from what i remember. everything is sort of eyeballed or up to taste preference... but what i put in it is soy sauce (kikkuman brand), bay leaf, lemon juice (or real lemon if you have it), ground pepper, pepper corn( if have/prefer), vinegar, onions, and a crushed garlic clove. and fill with water till just covering the chicken. basically it'll be half water and half everything else. i like my adobo very sour, almost bitting, which is why i put both lemon and vinegar in there. but really you use either one you want. Bay leaf is a MUST. i'll make this sauce, let the chicken sit in it for a day then put the whole thing straight into the pot to cook! if i make it again i'll try to write down the ammounts for you but for now you'll have to just go by taste preference.

You could use salted black beans (they are fermented) in your adobo sauce if you like it saltier than usual. They have a nice taste, not at all rotten, even if you bite on one it is still tasty.
The basics are likely the same you use for other recipes like Soreso (Soysauce, garlic, lemon and sugar), but some people don't use sugar. I prefer it with a bit of it for the sweetness and don't use any vinegar. But then, my aunt is doing it totally different, I guess nearly every family is doing their own adobo. x3

They have traditional as well as modern bento, but they don't have a wide variety i'm afraid.

I buy mine at various places. I don't have one place I get them from and bento range in price depending upon where and what you get. You just have to see what's out there and what you're willing to pay

I've got the same bento box! But I didn't get it at Morikami, I got mine at an anime convention in California. I'd love to go there someday. The food looks great.

Thank you. Yes bento boxes are mass produced so it's not uncommon to be able to find them in multiple places. I've never been to a convention before though. I usually buy mine online, this is the only bento box I've bought from a physical store.
