I've watched this movie every day since I got it on DVD and the climax still leaves me a hysterical, emotional mess, tears or no, by the end credits I'm smiling like an idiot.

I loved this movie as well. The animation team put such love and care into every frame, and it showed. I really need to get it on Blu-ray when it comes out.

"Coco" was an awesome film. I actually feel kind of bad that I DIDN'T cry when I watched it.

It's ok, I didn't cry watching a lot of films deemed super sad (like Hatiko). It's just that the father/daughter theme hits home for me, and tears just flowed.Β

I wasn't even close to tearing TBH; but internally at least, I was deeply moved. And I agree, I really like the father/daughter thing the film showed. Poor Hector; all he wants is to see his daughter one last time. Nice to finally see him forgiven and reunited with his loved ones.

The most tragic thing is that he died so young (21), and Imelda had to live for 50 years more without him, trying to hate him and making her family hate him and music! While he "lived" for what, like 90 years? alone and almost forgotten. He paid such a high price for I don't know what. And yeah, at least he got a happy ending (even though he's still dead and stuff).Β
