What's hurt the most they didn't get proper talk after Ford had told Stan that he must get out from Mystety Shunk after summer end. And still neither one of them took away his pride to tell "Sorry" for what they did to each other.
Yes, I pitty Stanley much more than Stanford, but I also can't forget that he also makes mistakes. For me the biggest wasn't that he by mistake turn his twin into other dimmension, but that after Ford's school project failures he didn't say sorry that he broke it accidentaly. Instead he said that's better cause they both could sail away. Maybe Ford wouldn't still belive it was accident, but who know?
And Stanley is quiet jerkass (how else call man who makes with kids false money?

Still it wasn't first thing he said. Stan said about accident after Pines Senior stormed. So it sounded more alike lie to cover his own skin.

Personally, sometimes I had feel that Ford during highschool really wanted to get rid off being "one of twins", when Stan wanted them to stick together. What can be weighting down, when they didn't get any other friend than themself.
Mabel and Dipper have during series problems with twins/siblings issue - alike when Dipper wanted to get own room and Mabel pannicked about it, or that they always 't get the same friends (when Mabel hung out with girls,dipper stays alone).
Yes, good thing if twins understood that they may not always be together, and cherries they individuality. But Ford hadn't understood lesson that Dipper is learing during Weirdmagedon - "One Pines is strong, but two can solve almost everything".

Ford believes that Stan sabotaged the project just so he wouldn't go to his dream school, essentially "ruining his future". That was the initial conflict, however Ford also blames Stan for the portal incident, which ended with him getting sucked in. I guess he blames Stan because he didn't simply follow Ford's orders, but then again, "You finally wanna see me after 10 years, and it's to tell me to get as far away from you as possible!?!?" Who asks that?

What did Ford shout when he was sucked into the portal? "Stanley! Help me! Do something!". So Stan did, and now it turns out he "didn't follow Ford's orders"? Stan did what a caring brother would do. Sure he made mistakes, but so did Ford. The end of the world came to be with a huge help from him. Also, yeah, who asks for help after 10 years of silence and sends one off like an errand boy? A jerk who needs to get his act together.

By following his orders, I meant taking Journal 1 and sailing as far away as he could. Stan rightfully protested, as Ford hadn't seen him for 10 years and when he finally calls it to tell him to get away. I agree Ford has acted quite terribly towards Stan, but I get where he's coming from. He believes Stan ruined his project, therefore ruining his future, just so Ford wouldn't abandon him. Whether or not Stan actually did break it, that was never the intention and the entire Pines family overreacted.
I hope things get cleared up in the end. I believe Stan didn't actually break the machine, as he simply hit the table, but that's a story for another day.

That makes Ford a hypocrite. He made a mistake by trusting a chaos god and helping him build a device that could destroy the world and he refused to listen to Fiddleford's warning about it. Ford never owns up to his mistakes but holds grudges for people for accidents.

Holding up the mistake of trusting Bill was throwing away his greatest achievement and hiding the research he spent years doing. You also have to keep in mind that he was losing his mind, he was going insane and didn't know how he could trust because Bill got inside his head and he could get inside anyone's head. He didn't ignore Fiddleford's warnings, his pride just wouldn't let him destroy the project he worked on his entire life, which is understandable. Not the correct thing to do, yes, but it's understandable why he didn't want to destroy the portal until Ds, Ds and more Ds, when he got wiser and over his pride.
See what people don't get about Ford's character is that he grew as the years went by. He was a selfish, gullible and prideful man, who wanted to achieve the success that his brother supposedly robed away. Like he told Dipper, he was desperate for answers that would continue his research, so he summoned Bill and even let him inside his mind, because he was a naive researcher. Because of this, he goes insane and decides to hide the journals, but was unable to destroy the portal because pride issues. His pride and grudge also got him stuck in the portal, as that's what caused Stan to freak out after he learned the true purposes of their meet-up after 10 years. He got punished for every single one of his mistakes (pride and grudge = getting sucked into the portal, trusting Bill = Losing his mind) and so, he grew wiser in those 30 years. What is the first thing Ford does when he's able to be alone in the basement? DISMANTLING THE PORTAL. The one thing he was unable to do when he was young, the one thing he was the most proud of, he tore it apart because he realized that his "greatest achievement" was built on a lie and to destroy the world.
His only remaining gripes with Stan are the portal incident and the project incident, two which can be used against Ford, if Stan was as prideful as he is. Why do I say this? Because they both contributed to the portal incident, and Ford allowed his father to disown Stan and to throw him away, albeit he was heart broken while doing so (rewatch the episode, you can see that Ford closed the curtains because he was about to cry. He was torn between his love for his brother and the pain his brother brought to him by destroying the project).
