Dumbledore once said that to the happiest man on Earth, the mirror of Erised would simply be a mirror. He would want for nothing, so the only thing he'd see would be his own reflection. Now, one of the questions to ask would be does the mirror show what you desire most or what you think you desire most? One thing's for certain is that what it shows can change. Ford might see himself surrounded by accolades, having gained the respect of the science community with his research into the supernatural, but ultimately alone. He might see Bill, defeated and at his mercy. Or he might see Dipper as a young man, having grown to follow in his footsteps. As he is right now, I doubt any of Ford's 'perfect futures' would involve reconciling with Stan.Β
