As much as I'm more or less neutral with some main characters I agree with your point. There are supporting/minor characters that I can tolerate with, even if they don't have as much depth or development like most main characters, or that they have to be judged as being underdeveloped or static... because in a way, not every main character is fully developed, and even if they are, sometimes that can overrun what goes on around them, and some main characters remain the same frame of body as time goes on. And that can be alright, because not all characters have to be written with a lot of over-the-top detail to make them what they are, as characters. I mean, as a lowly writer, I make characters that don't always need to go through a lot of radical changes, even if just a tiny bit, and some of which are supporting characters. And sometimes those type of characters can be just as enjoyable to create as main characters.
And also if they have a likeable personality, like if they are good-natured, placid/level-headed characters that could also be clumsy or not so bright all the time, then that's what I like the most, even from characters who don't have a lot of depth or don't always go through development all the time. That's pretty much my food for thought, quite an article xD

Main characters are boring because they're slapped across the merch, take up a little too much screen time, and have boring designs most of the time.
I always love the minor characters because they're often more amusing. Take MishMash from TBLT, for instance. She is so awesome, but is only on screen for uhhβ¦thirty seconds? Yet her design and dialogue are just plain creepy-hilarious.

I agree. I usually live the minor characters xD Main characters are always so... perfect and strong and are the 'chosen ones'.
Some main characters are okay (like the one in my story lol), but the mary sue ones... UGH theyre soooo annoying
