I'm sorry for the black-and-whiteness, guys! As you can see, the fact this entry has 90-and-something pages has made it impossible to color. I tried my best to suit my style to the monochromatic ways, but... err, hope it wasn't difficult to read!
Regardless, thanks for taking a look~

This was an amazing read for me. The humor was excellent, the references were a-plenty, and the story left you guessing.
But, one thing has me confused... what Opportunity did Dem take with the Raven? I must have missed something.

WELL
After following you in this OCT since round 2 i am finally stopping to be such a wuss about leaving comments - because this really deserves whatever praise you get.
I just enjoy reading your comics, Period.
I love the dialogs, characters, the expressions and the story.
But what i love the most was the dynamic between Jay and Dem.
I admit, the first time i saw these 2 characters i had quite a different image of them in my head until i saw them now in this OCT in action. Yeah, i liked their concept in the beginning - now i just love this duo and really hope to see more of them someday (I think we both know what i mean *wink*)
Also as always: GOD DAMNIT you are just doing this magic again i know from you "What? 90+ Pages in like 6 weeks? Gimme some coffee and i'll do this!"
I just adore your stellar productivity :U But i told you that already.
I will definetly add these rounds to my fav. folder of links with oct entries i want to reread once in a while.
I am so glad you made it till the finale to finish this story

WOW THIS WAS SOO EPIC!
I TRULY ENJOY IT, Knowing Jay was a serial killer that killed her husband was a shock and the scenes of him killing, also the sarcasm I LOVED IT!
Wow you are truly awesome I REALLY hope you win...
by the way What is the name of the why?? Derek or Duane??
Cause both entries have different names...your only clue was that it started with a D?
Either way epic!

Thank you so much, miss ; w; you're truly a patient person for putting up with my work through this entire OCT, haha XD and feel free to ask any questions you'd like! I'm not particularly resourceful or eloquent but I'll still try my best to properly answer them
QuixyAct In reply to demjay [2012-01-06 07:05:57 +0000 UTC]
It's no problem at all! And patient or not your work is definitely worth the wait; the fact you managed to get it in and manage deadlines with the OCT judges makes me happy enough xD
For a moment I wasn't sure what Dem had done -- though now I'm pretty sure I get it. Just had to read through it all, which wasn't a hassle at all! You've had me questioning if Dem is even real or not, though events point to either side -- a ghost, or some other mythical being? I have no idea but he's very original and simple, yet complex -- as is Jay!
Serial killing as a hobby? Ohdear that was unexpected. I mean granted he did have less hesitance to kill and the gun on a 'normal' guy were eyebrow raisers but serial killer? If you ever pursued Dem and Jay having their own story I'd definitely pay to read it.

Hmm,you know it could possible that everyone that 'died' in the tournament may have taken the train as well after they were turned into mist. We did see Freyr,Jonah, and Dallas being taken away by the Mist, after all. Madalyn did say that no one actually dies in Wisp,in. the beginning. Though this is just a theory and just my take on it. That's what I look when a story ends without a clear ending, and it's up to the reader to decide, what happened.

Pff, who needs colors?! I'm reading your comics because of the plot, the characters. Okay, also because of your drawing skills, but then also just because of the great expressions and gestures that feels so lively while reading though this that I'm feeling like I'm watching a movie. And I rather like to see a completed story with smooth inks than a full-colored epic beginning, leading into a half-asses, unfinished plot. To sum it up: Colors are overrated.
Concerning your entry: It was amazing. Felt really deep and had fascinating twists. I always envied you for this passion in your works - and the thoughts and effort put into it. That's actually all I can say about it because there are no words to describe it - at least for me since I'm not that talented with words. So yeah, keep it up.
But! Now take your deserved rest. 90 pages in this short amount of time... smells like an overdose of coffee? C:
Last but not least, good luck in this. Would be awesome to see you winning because you'd definitely deserve it.

Awww, thank you, miss. You're right, though, and this is a mistake I've made in the past myself! Hence why I decided to just focus on finishing it instead ; w;
And pffft, me, pulling all-nights? Now where did you get such idea 9v9" but really, thank you for read everything 'til the end. Don't know why you did that, but it's been great to have you around! Thanks~

Definitely the right thing to do! A few months back, I did this myself in an entry for a tournament - it was a black-white manga styled one, but since time was very short for me, I skipped the screen tones - and noone noticed. Continuity is all it needs - an entry half colored looks unfinished, a completely colorless one like a finished one. xD
Oh, I was just guessing~ 8DD (And I'm really envying you for your stamina when it comes to all-nighters, sir.)
By the way, I was really a bit shocked when I saw the journal of the results... second place it is again, huh? But you could tell your story til the end, and that's what counts more than prizes, right? At least that's my opinion about this.
Sorry for babbling around like this and for the late response. I was a bit busy lately with drawing, too.

Don't apologise for the black-and-whiteness!! Your style works really well with it, and the backgrounds still look nice that way c:
90 and something pages?! You better take a rest now... geez, one would think you knew by now such long entries are a killer to draw! >o
Getting back to the topic (aka your entry)... it's been really enjoyable. I liked how it all tied together and how we got to know the really scary dark side Jay's got in him.

Amazing!
This was incredibly well done, and the monochromatic-ness dosen't pull the style or the story down at all. I also love how the ending isn't concrete; we viewers can decided just where that train is headed.
And wow, 90+ pages-way to go! I knew you could do it, but it probably wasn't easy.
Still, excellent work! Here's hoping you win!
