Description the 'insects' of Fentil, Octopoids are infact, technically hexapods, but have evolved another limb out of flesh, similar to the pseudo-legs of caterpillars.

Most walkers contain symbiotic algae in their gut capsule, and only really need to drink water. However, because of their reliance on photosynthesis, they can only live in well-lit areas leaving most walkers to inhabit the plains and mountains.

Flyers could best be described simply as an octopus combined with a butterfly.

Octopiods can vary in size, from tiny flying ones at about 1cm long, to massive plodding walkers reaching 3 meters high.

I only really put these together today, but they just seem to fit in so well to the ecology. I really wanted something to fit in for 'insects' without them looking too insect-like, but I think it might be unavoidable in my case.

I think you did a great job in creating a honourable alternative to our insects. Filling the same niche in a completely different way.

Thanks very much. I've got quite a few more species designs for these, so keep watching, they're on their way.
