All in all, this piece took me far less time than I initially thought it would. It's my first shot at something a bit more realistic and I've put quite some effort in getting the anatomy and shading right: Definitely worth it, since it came out a lot better than expected.

I've had some comments about the image being a bit dark: I've left it like that on purpose. The dark colours give it a bit of a see-through, spectral feel to it. Making it lighter simply took away that effect and made the horror-feel it has to it go poof.

Done from scratch in Adobe Photoshop 7.0 with my Graphic Tablet and hardly any reference to work with. Total time spent on it was uhm... Eh... Something around 6 hours, can't quite remember: It's been a while.
