Description
Hmm...technically, "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst isn't really a novel/book. But w/eSo, this is from quite a while ago (less than a year), one of the few illustrations I had to do for English class. I don't know why I'm submitting this here right now...except I just want to get some more things in my gallery

I'm guessing Where The Red Fern Grows was never a required school reading? I read it in like 5th grade. When we grouped up, everybody's faces were red. Me? Not a tear
I read the Scarlet Ibis this week and we had to do a poster and--well, just see the picture I just submitted.

W'ere doing a theme paper on thie story for English. This portrays the climax very well. We all kind of got mad at our English teacher for not warning us how sad the story would be though...This is really cool.

Geez like uglyswan I didn't think there was ANY fanart of that story.
My class just finished discussing it today! XD I absolutly love this story. I was about to cry when Doodle was crying out "Brother don't leave me! Don't leave me!" ;____; I was planning to make a picture of it and I thought I was going to be the first one. Hahahaha you proved me wrong X3 I think you did a magnifecent job in this picture. The twists of his sleeve is so amazing it's unbarable. Wonderful job

Holy cow. I didn't think I find ANY fanart for this story, but lo and behold!
Damn, that story made me bawl like a baby. We read it in class a few days ago, and I had a mental breakdown in class o_o That scene... I just couldn't take it.
I like how you used the actual Ibis as symbolism for Doodle. And the pained look on his brother's face is belivable, though you covered the yes. Looks like he's about to scream from grief.
In regards to the art itself, I like the splattered way you made the blood look. You also made the folds in the clothing look very detailed, and the hands, and the hair.
And it may just be me, but I think that the picture should have a bit of a darker quality to it.... not dark like, says, pu-ama's (though that would kick ass) it's just that the grass seems too green and the backround and overall tone doesn't express grief, although the blood and the expressions portray that.
Nice handwriting, by the way~ I'm serious.
