Description
I created this to challenge the 3D Program I use.Poser doesn't cope too well with realistic light and transparency.
To achieve something that looks like glass in Poser is bloody hard.
I tried, Jesus helped me.
Thanks Lord.
The final render didn't actually need any postwork, which surprised the pants off me.
The only postwork in this image is the text.
Hurrah!

Thanks again!
This one was an experiment I wanted to try with Poser, I use Bryce as well which is much easier to get good reflections and reflective material with.
Bryce also deals with light and raytracing much better than Poser because it has a much better render engine.
At the time I was creating characters for a BBC PC game but had to use screen captures to show the characters attributes and physical appearance.
I thought it'd be fun to do a quick version of the character in Poser so got one Vicky, morphed her until she looked vaguely right then added a new Vicky resized up by about 1% in the same pose with the same morphs so I could use it as a shell.
Then I messed about in the Material room, made the shell transparent with it's own texture and played about with transparency settings and different reflection maps until I got something that looked right.
Hopefully I'll get around to doing some more android/robot based work as I've got a Sci-Fi calendar planned that keeps getting put off.

No Postwork? What's she reflecting? Hard to tell with all the curves of the reflection and all. Very nice work though.

The reflections are Reflection Maps which are applied to whichever material you want using material nodes within the 3D program.
I wouldn't want to even contemplate postworking realistic looking glass reflections!

Ah, I still haven't figured out how to use the materials tab in Poser 5 very well yet, I'm used to the old Poser 4 version still. Eventually maybe I'll get there.

It's worth checking the net for tutorials on using the material room, there's sooooo many things you can do with the nodes!
